My catfish just randomly laid eggs and I don't have a spare tank to put them in. Is there way to keep them safe and alive? I did not plan on this and have no idea what to do with them but would like to try and have a few healthy babies and have no idea what I am doing....

I have a black moor fish that has always been very active.. recently he started laying at the bottom of the tank.. and yesterday he was swimming sideways (yikes!) Today he was floating at the top, but still has gill movement. I moved him to the bowl (best solution the other fish were picking on him) now what?

well
for two days now
i changed the water once a day
i have been feeding them pellet food and frozen blood worms
i have the female in the breeding tank inside of a "3 way breeder" just to hold her in and close to end of the glass so both males can see her
neither of them are blowing bubbles
and i dont know why?
they have both eaten well and what ever they dont eat in 3 mins i take out
the water is probably around 70-75 degrese
i cant understand what is wrong now?
my first male blew bubble nests all the time
now when i put the light on he trys to hide under a plant
and he only comes out when i turn it off
another thing is i tried breeding my first male once before
but the werid thing is i had him in the back room with the lights off only the hood light on and he wouldnt only blow bubbles wheni would leave the room as soon as i would walk in he would stop and hide so i watched him one day sort of hiding and he blew non stop till he spotted me.
i hope someone can help em thanks a lot :)

I love this fish, but he's pretty dumb. I just saw him choking on some gravel and he ended up getting it out on his own. I was just wondering what I do in that situation if he can't get it out. He went right back to picking at the rocks after he dislodged that one. I also think he cut himself getting it out. What can I do about that???

He's a shubunkin and has a pretty large mouth.

Im moving all my fish to a larger tank and wanted to know what the best way of doing this is, as ive heard alot of different theorys.
Im probably going to be using my filter sponge from my old tank, aswell as my gravel, plants, ornaments ect.... do u still need to cycle the new tank if i use all my old media and filter sponge?
if i do... what is the safest way to do this, im not bothered by how long it takes i just want to keep all my fish safe and healthy.
would adding ammonia be the best way of doing this? ive read that you shouldnt use soapy ammonia... the one i got from the shops doesnt look soapy or misty at all, but it dosnt have any ingredients on the lable, its just reads "kleen off ammonia, mulit-purpose household cleaner"...have i got the right stuff?
If i was to cycle using this method, on completion of it, how much water do you need to change before adding fish?
thank you for any help you can give me.

I've had an 18 gallon hexagonal brackish water tank for about 5 years. It's had a vast array of different types of fish, everything from puffers to crabs. However, now I am down to just an algae eater, which is quite large. I would have no trouble removing him (as my local pet store accepts trade-ins), so I am pretty open to put anything in. Any suggestions of fish that would be attractive or interesting? How do lobsters/crayfish do in brackish? Knifefish?

I have recently seen a Giant Hatchet fish in a fish shop. I am very interested in these hatchets but I forgot to ask what they were like and the conditions they keep them in. I have tried to find this fish on the internet but instead I got a marine species that lives under the sea. In the shop I saw a giant silver hatchet for freshwater. Could you give me any info about these fish and if you have kept any and how did you get on with them! All comments would be appreciated!

He has white/yellow lesions down his back. I am getting so frustrated because I cant figure out what it is. I've had him for 2 years and he's not doing good. I've done so much research and theres just too many things. It's not ich, I dont think its fungus because it not cotton-like, someone mentioned velvet, but it didnt look like the pics that I researched. Maybe its a parasite? At first i use Melafix but nothing happened it just got worse. Someone said to use Malachite Green, but when I went to Wal-mart the only medicine containg it was Ich away. So thats what Im using now, wondering if it will work. how long should I put it in my tank. The bottle says for all external parasites and fungus. I need an expert!

My mom bought me a one gallon fish bown for Christmas, and right away, I filled it up with around 25 goldfish from Walmart. The problem I'm having is that most of the goldfish are dead and just floating around in the fishbowl.

It's my first time with a pet and I'm really discouraged by the results. How can I keep them alive longer?

We have a 29 gallon freshwater aquarium, with tiger barbs and bala sharks. We have a Whisper Power filter that hangs on the back of the tank. We also have an air pump that connects to two tubes with airstones--it's an air pump for tanks less than 30 gallons. Whenever I turn the air pump on, the bubbles just seem way too intense. All of the air from the air pump creates so many bubbles and currents in the tank, that it seems like the fish are having a hard time swimming.

Does the Whisper Power filter provide enough oxygen? Or do I need to keep the air pump on sometimes? (I usually plug the air pump in once a day for a couple hours. Is this causing too much stress for the fish?) Thanks!

I set up my 46 gallon saltwater tank last Thursday, and it looks GREAT !!!
I used all the right chemicals which is probably why Im having such good luck. My clown trigger isnt bothering my clownfish yet, and my Yellow tang is so bright. I got a blue tang on Sunday and he swims awesome. He's going through some sort of color change though. Part of his body has white speckles that make him shiney. Do fish shed like snakes do? Cause some of the fish have cloudy eyes, and I know my Garter snake would get cloudy eys when he was gonna shed.
Anyways, I'm looking for 3 more fish. Hopefully that's okay.
I have 2 tangs, clown trigger, 2 Clownfish (the Nemo kind), one Pufferfish, one eel, and 2 hermit crabs.
What should I get? My tank is kind of aggressive but I think I got nice ones. Any ideas are welcome..

thanx

Hey I have a red-bellied Pacu that is about 3 years old now and 2 days ago I bought a new filter system for the tank and a few hours after changing it, One of the other Pacu's in the tank died. Now My 3 year old Pacu is upside down on the bottom of the tank, not moving, only his tail slightly "wags" and he is still breathing...When I tap him he is like a rock and flips right back over.He hasn't eaten for 2 days because he is like this, is there anything I could do for him or is he going to die too? Thank you.
