A manufacturer once included information with their food that once opened the vitamin content drops to 1/2 in 3 months and that the food had no good nutritional value after 6 months. I have always tried to use this rule and toss anything over 3 months.

Since it is dry with (at 99.7% moisture free) it will stay a very long time if not kept in a humid area like the refrigerator.

There are some flake foods that have expiry dates but most do not. As long as it is kept in a sealed container with no moisture, your fish food can last for a number of years. (Odd it would ever last that long) If you are worried you bought a large container and haven't used it yet, don't worry, it is still good.

If you notice mold or "bugs" in the food, toss it and get new food.

Dry foods hold up pretty well. I usually buy several large containers when the big mail order places have a good price, then freeze them until needed. I have 8 fairly large tanks running now so I use quite a bit of food, and this is about as economical as I can make it. If there were a good pet store near me,(not one of the "big box" stores) I'd patronize it,but the nearest one is over 50 miles from me now.---------PeeTee

If there is no expiration date on the container I would say forever.
