I set up my 46 gallon saltwater tank last Thursday, and it looks GREAT !!!
I used all the right chemicals which is probably why Im having such good luck. My clown trigger isnt bothering my clownfish yet, and my Yellow tang is so bright. I got a blue tang on Sunday and he swims awesome. He's going through some sort of color change though. Part of his body has white speckles that make him shiney. Do fish shed like snakes do? Cause some of the fish have cloudy eyes, and I know my Garter snake would get cloudy eys when he was gonna shed.
Anyways, I'm looking for 3 more fish. Hopefully that's okay.
I have 2 tangs, clown trigger, 2 Clownfish (the Nemo kind), one Pufferfish, one eel, and 2 hermit crabs.
What should I get? My tank is kind of aggressive but I think I got nice ones. Any ideas are welcome..

thanx

I love Petsmart, that's where "The Pets Go". You should get one of those cool looking fish like Oscar (the Shark Tales kind).

The general rule for saltwater tanks is 1 creature (fish, anemone, crab, etc) for every 2 gallons, with predator fish counting as 2 fish. If you want to keep predators with non-predators, make sure your predators are much smaller than your non-predators, or will have spent $5-20 on your predators next meal.
Fish do not shed like snakes. If your fish's eyes are clouding, it could indicate a bacterial infection. Or, since you just set the tank up last Thursday, they could be stressed from the tanks natural cycle developing. You should start a saltwater tank with hearty, relatively cheap fish (damsels and some clowns) as you could likely lose your puffer and eels as your tank cycles for the first few weeks.
I know it's hard, but wait a while and let your tank settle before adding any new fish - and definitely don't add anything new until you can get rid of the cloudy-eye problem.

okkk well being a fish specialist at PETCO for over a year I can tell you that keeping any kind of trigger fish, puffer and eel with tangs, or clowns is not a good idea. Their too aggressive- and eventually are going to go after your other fish. Your only supposed to have one fish per every three gallons of water. That doesnt leave you with much and you really shouldnt add too many fish at once. Especially since your tank hasnt gone through its first three month cycling period. Eventually your nitrates are going to go soaring and your fish are going to go into shock a die. Keep what you have in there now. The more fish you add the more problems your going to run into, You need to build up good bacterias in your water for your fish to live off of before you throw so many in. The next time you buy a fish ask who evers selling it to you if its compatible with whatever you have in your tank. Mixing just any fish are going to result in you losing a lot of money. Its easy extremely easy to start a salt water tank. The problems are maintaining it.

A coral beaty or flame angel would look nice and a blenny would help clean waste and algea. I would wait a little while though and do some water testing to see what the levels are. When you add a lot of fish at once the nitrates are bound to go up. If you just set it up has it cycled yet? You should make sure that process happens before spending more money on fish.

It's great that you are keeping such great care of your fish, but the white speckles are not good. If the fish is developing them then that is bad and you might just have all the fish in your aquarium die. White speckles developing on fish means that they are getting ick. Ick is a fish sickness that can be cured with and ick remover anti-biotic from any local fish store or pet store. That should clear that up. Most fish do not shed and if their eyes are cloudy, that means they are sick. I would hold off buying more fish for a little while and separate you fish before your fish all start to die. If after a couple weeks none of them died then go ahead and buy more fish. You don't have to stop at 3 unless you feel they need more space. None of the illnesses were your fault but I suggest taking care of them asap.

Cloudy eyes is either a bacterial infection or a thickened slime coat due to poor water quality. You shouldn't have added any fish at all. You should have let the tank run for 6 weeks with no fish but with a source of ammonia, either pure ammonia you get at a store or rotten fish food. You have added too many fish and they are gonna die. Your mix of fish is horrible. The store that let you buy all those needs their a** kicked.
White speckles is ICH, a parasite. Ich meds have copper in them which will kill your hermit crabs. Assuming the fish will survive, the puffer is gonna eat the crabs.

dont add anymore fish cuz your going to find that wat you have will out grow your tank your yellow tang can reach about 6-8" two nemos 3" each if you have a porcupine puffer hell get over 12" your eel (snoe flake moray) will get about 30" and eat everything if he isnt fed enough except for the clown trigger which will get over 12" so if you add all the inches youll be way over the limits of your tanks even if the fish you have grow really slowly you might be cutting it close already. i usually give my fish 2-5 gallons per inch depending on wat they eat like carnivorous fish 5 gallons and plant eaters 2 gallons per inch of fish so expect a bigger tank in your future!! but good luck anyway!! also if you dont have a protein skimmer i suggest you get one quick!! even if you tank looks ok your fish could be stressing out becuase you have fish that are compatible ive been taking care of my reef tank for 5 years and i have too go craze making sure that my cat shark doesnt eat my 2 clowns, blue hippo tang, yellow tang, orchard dottyback, copperbanded butterfly,or any of my algae cleaners. marine fish tanks can be war zones when adding certain fish together so read about your fish before putting them together theres plenty of info flooding in on marine type fauna

I added a Gourami to my saltwater tank but he didn't last very long. Not to sure why but the professionals at Petco told me it was OK. Try getting a red ear slider! They Love Fish tanks! Also, a couple swordtail's would add some great color. The people at Petsmart recommended those to me. Good Luck!
