My catfish just randomly laid eggs and I don't have a spare tank to put them in. Is there way to keep them safe and alive? I did not plan on this and have no idea what to do with them but would like to try and have a few healthy babies and have no idea what I am doing....

The truth of the matter is without a seperate tank you will have an almost impossible task ahead of you to save any of the eggs or fry. It's very difficult to feed babies in a typical aquarium setup not to mention the fact that all the other fish will see the eggs and fry as food.

It's awesome that you take such good care of your fish that you have eggs from a not so easy group of fish like cory cats! Congrats on the excellent fish keeping. They will lay again before too long so you might want to read up on cory cat breeding and plan on raising the next batch. Here's a link that will get you started.

Best of luck!

You can get a plastic box from the pet store that is specifically for breeding. It's possible that if you can successfully transfer the eggs into this before they all get eaten, you will have a successful hatch. I have gotten baby cories in my tank without doing anything at all, but the other fish really do like to eat the eggs. Good Luck!
