It has a whisper 20-40 filter system on it and an undergravel filter system. Do I need both for a goldfish? I'm new to aquariums.

I had my left leg amputated after an accident 7 years ago. Since then I've had several different artificial limbs fitted. I've always found them a bit dull so I always try to accessorize them.
My latest limb has a fish tank fitted into the shin section (just big enough for 2 goldfish). All my friends and family think it's amazing and it really gets people talking when I wear it down the pub. However I am having problems with the gravel at the bottom of the tank making the water cloudy. I think this is caused by the vibration every time I take a step. I really don't want the fish to suffer so I need to find a suitable filtration system to keep the water clear.

Can anyone suggest a suitable filter and pump for artificial limb based aquariums?

i recently asked this question ( quick summary); i have a female and male bettas and when i put them together they were ok for the first day then the female (which was a lot smaller then my male) started eating my males tail. could it be the filter running and stressing them out? the female acted like she was stressed, should i put them together when i stop the filter and watch them??

I have a 10 gallon tank with 3 small goldfish in it and the water is green. I've cleaned it, put a larger filter (20-30 gal.) in the tank and declorinated it each time I add more water. Next day the tank is a green color. I've had other goldfish over the years and their tanks were never green. I've even tries algae treatments, nothing is working. I have another 2 1/2 gallon tank with tropical fish (3) and it is clear. I use the same water for both tanks which is the strange thing. Any ideas or suggestions?

I work in an orthodontic office and we have a betta fish, that is sort of our office "mascot". It seems he has become sick. He can't seem to swim around normally. He floats to the top and just sits there. The only way he can stay at the bottom is if he sticks himself under the roots of the plant. His fins aren't looking to healthy and he has a little bit of pop-eye. He doesn't look bloated and he still eats just fine. What is wrong with him and how can I fix it?

I've had a male betta for four months and he's been very healthy until now. I keep him in a two-gallon tank with an aerator. He's generally very energetic and his fins were beautiful. But recently he became more lethargic and I noticed him trailing white wispy material on his bottom fin. So I did a complete water change and changed the tubing and rock for his aerator and even removed an aquarium lily bulb I'd been trying to grow in his tank. I doubt it caused anything but I removed it anyway. Since then he's been more energetic but I still occasionally see the white material and his back fin looks frayed and ragged on the edges. The bottom fin looks a little curled. I have some Wardley Ick Away I could use but I don’t even know if it’s ich or fin rot. I’m in college and shop largely at a local Wal Mart so considering that when recommending treatments would help. I want to do something ASAP so any good advice would be appreciated.

1) there is no great place to purchase healthy fish other than straight from a breeder
2) fish you buy in ANY store have been mass raised, overbred and MASS shiiped and very few are disease free. there is only a small chance that they are healthy. the shipping alone is a MAJOR stress on them
3) a VERY LITTLE known fact is that the scanners at the register and the magnetic scensors at the doors are DEADLY to fish. (9 times out of 10 they plop your bag right on the scanner to put in the codes)
4) consider the outside air temp and the temp in your car while you transport them..
5) most of the fish in pet stores are already adult fish (most live bearers are) and hey...they don't have long life spans
6) then add all the other informative info you already know about and chances are pretty good that fish will just not make it to well.

I hope any of this information has been helpful

I have a peacock eel in a ten gallon tank with 3 ghost shrimp, and one black moor goldfish. I know not to ussually mix the two fish, but they do not bother each other and the temp is room temp 74 degrees for the water. my eel i have had for about a week, and im not sure if hes eating or not. the guy at the store told me bloodworms, i have found that the eel comes out from hiding and is more active in the evening, i have been cutting out all the lights and putting in the freeze dried bloodworms hoping the eel with eat the food before the golfish will. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing or not? Im just wondering if the eel will find the bloodworms and the goldfish and shrimp wont eat them all.
Thanks

I just started a 30+ gallon tank with 1 male gold mickey mouse, 2 gold mickey mouse platies, and 2 sunburst platies (I think both female). I assume that male will mate with any of the females (incl. the sunburst), and I am curious to know what the babies will look like. Any links to pictures would be fabulous.

I have got some neons and widow teras. On Sunday I bought some mollys. I bought 6 from Pets at Home. I also bought some ornaments and plants. On the way home one of this fish died on this morning another was dead in the tank but I noticed since I put the ornaments and plants in and the fish the tank has gone cloudy. I thought it was because the stones at the bottom had moved but its not settling. I have now just took about 60% of the water out and replaced it but its exactly the same.

Now one of the neons is staying very close to the top of the water and doesnt look well at all. The ph and temp and evrything was corerect. Can anyone help?

He lives at my work on my desk. He has a five gallon tank. The water temp is usually around 80, but I've raised it to 82 because of his tail. There is a filter and an airstone running. The tank is cycled. I've had him for a few months now. I checked the water yesterday. Ammonia: 0 NitrItes: 0 Nitrates: between 10 and 20
idk about pH, but I use bottled spring water, so I'm not too worried about it... any advice?
