Water weights 8 Lbs. per gallon. To find the approx gallons of an aquarium use this formula. Convert feet into inches: L48 x W24 x H24, then divide by 2.31= 119.69 x 8lbs= 957.52 lbs. If you are looking for actual weight of aquarium without water, tell us, acrylic or glass? Don't forget to account for water displacement.

By your dimensions, this is more like a 120 gallon. The weight empty would be about 215 lbs (for glass): http://www.all-glass.com/services/index.html

If you're talking acrylic, it would be a little less than half the weight of a glass one.

You can count on a tank with gravel weighing about 10 pounds for every gallon of water; more if there are lots of rocks (i.e. coral or live rock)
