hi, i have been reading a lot on goldfish lately and have read that lionheads are difficult ot keep. how delicate are they? and is there any special care they need? i know have a 50 gallon tank ( thanks for the advice guys!!!) i know u can't keep them with the normal bodied GF cuz they can't compete for food. will they be ok with fantails and a moor? they are all the same size right now, about 1 inch.

Im trying to get rid of my pleco and would like to replace with some sort of algae or waste eater/bottom dweller. Any one have experience or preference they could share with me so I have more info to base my decision on?
They would only be with Neon Tetra's. and three plants. 2 live, 1 fake.

Based on the 1 inch of fish per gallon rule, I would have to get rid of my neons which I don't want to do. I prefer to return the pleco to Petco, but it's after their 15day return policy. Does anyone know who/where I can give this pleco away/any resources/adoption places or fish etc? Habitat-wise, am I correct in that it is not a good thing to put the pleco in only a 5gallon tank? I heard small tanks stunt their growth which limits their life span.......

So I have 2 male and 3 female guppies in a community aquarium with 1 dwarf gourami and 2 platies. Will they eventually breed, and if I just let the fry be in the tank, will every single one be eaten? I have a 2.5 also where I will put some fry, but how do I know when my guppy will give birth? I will put the preg. guppy in the 2.5 to give birth, and then put it back in the 20 gallon. Will fry eventually be born?

I have a Ryukin (i dunno if i spelled it right) and it well plays dead..
most of the time its either sideways or upsidedown.. sometimes its just fine and swimming everywhere. So i dunno why it does that.. i know that most fish dont sleep and they dont play dead.. ( well at least i think so... --- ><>

I have 2 little golfish, and 2 bigger goldfish in the same tank, the two bigger ones swam belly side up and both ended up dead. What should I do so it doesn't happen to my other fish,(chocolate, fashon)?

Would this be ok for my 20 gal? I was thinking of about 5 guppies, 2 platies, 1 dwarf gourami, and a couple of oto's. Would all of those fit in my tank ok? Do oto's both eat algae, and left overs on the bottom?

Do female bettas fight each other? I know males will fight until the death. I didn't think females did that. Do they?

i have two of the fluttery tail and fin goldfish (do not know the proper name for them...) in a 10 gallon tank. they are doing fine, but i am a little ocncerned with their eating. i can put pinch after pinch of food in the tank and they eat EVERY bit of it. they are getting very fat, round bellies (that almost look like they could and will pop). is this normal for the fish, or should i cut back on how much they eat? it worries me that their bellies are so enlarged, but i dont want to starve them.

what should i do? do i keep feeding them or cut it back or let it go or what??

i know very little about fish and fish habbits. please help me.

I bought a used small aquarium for my 9 year old. It had gravel and plants and air pump. I filled it with water and put in my fish. I have regretfully killed about 10 fish including my pleco, 3 bettas, 3 gold fish, 4 tetras and Im unwilling to kill anymore. Ive tried changing the water every other day. I havent put these fish in at the same time as they are not completely compatable. But even in just a bowl, they still die. I have noticed some kind of fast growing green junk growing rapidly on the gravel that balloons into green puffy stuff.

I just bought a fish but i dont know what kind of fish it is. I know it is a tropical fish. it is silver/gray. It is kinda long (2-3 in) and it if flat. and also, its tail is always moving back and fourth like a snake. If you could identify it for me it would be relly appretiated. Thanks! =)
