Sounds like a pictus cat. Tiger Barbs are fairly easy keepers. They like to be in schools an odd number is best. So 7, 9, 11 ect... They can get aggessive to other fish especially the more you have. So if you get any other top or middle swimmers make sure they are hardy and semi-aggressive as well.

Tigers are pretty fish.

I have a pictus cat in my tank with clown loaches, gouramis and a ghost knife. The pictus is about 7 inches in length and his whiskers are even longer.

Tiger Barbs are fairly hardy. Ideally they prefer a water pH that is slightly acidic [about 6.8] but good water quality and stability is more important. Keep the water temperature at about 26 degrees Celsius [78 F] . All the general good aquarium keeping rules apply. They prefer a school of about 6 or more individuals and can sometimes be quite territorial/aggressive towards their tank mates. Good luck.
