Spelling is correct. Ryukin are deep bodied fish and with any deep bodied fish, a swim bladder problem is always a possibility, so certain precautions have to be taken. Trouble staying level and oriented are definate signs of already progressed, and most likely, irreversible, swim bladder problems. Fish do sleep but have no eyelids so sleep with eyes open when they are asleep they may not be able to "control" their orientation as much if they have a swim blatter problem. Basically your fish has a balance problem and falls over.

LOL.
first think you should do is go to a pet store and talk to them. (do NOT go to the fish department at walmart, the people that work in that section only ACT like they know about fish, they dont actually have a degree in fish stuff. LOL)
Tell them what is going on.

My suggestion is, get another fish like it, if that fish doesn't do the same thing, there is something wrong with this one. It could have an inflated belly, it could have a broken fin.
If the other fish does the same thing, GET A NEW FILTER! ;)
