I only have males and I want females but petco didn't have any so when I go buy some I would like to know what they look like

The females are the ones with the larger body and have no color except maybe just a tiny little bit on the tail and their tails dont grow long like the males. males have bigger tails and they're colorful. be sure that you want them together because guppies mate very very often. i started off with 10 , a few died and left 4. within the next couple of weeks there were over 50 guppies in the tank, which meant i had to do more to the tank to keep it clean. as if that wasn't enough when the babies are born you need to separate them from the others because the bigger fish will eat them. of course you don't have to separate them, but if you want to give the babies a chance at life do it. i wish you luck.

plain janes, much less colorful than their make counterparts. i have seen a few females with a dash of color in the tail but for the most part they are plain..probably while they aren't a big seller at petco

female guppies look like males but their anal fin is triangular instead of tubelike.
