I have 3 chihuahuas, ones a long hair and the others are short hairs. My long hair weighs 11 lbs, and my short hairs weigh 8 and 21 lbs. They all are active for the same amount of time and they play together all day. I feed the 11 and 8 lb chihuahuas regular food and the 21 lb chihuahua diet food, and I walk them all every. None of them overeat, but I can't get the one to lose weight?!

I have 2 dachshunds. 1 male (Oscar) and 1 female (Emmy). I am having a problem as to showing them that I am the "Pack Leader?" Emmy isn't as bad as Oscar. Oscar has selective hearing and I believe he thinks he's the boss because he's the boy. He listen's to me to a certain extent but not really... What should I do? What do I need to teach them that I'm the pack leader

Well , I answered somebody at Yahoo questions regarding dog Food Choices and I said I thought Pedigree was a good dog Food. However I got a lot of thumbs down and now i,am actually worried that I,am not feeding my dog,s good food:(However it was recommended by my vet. ( I have a 50lbs lab mix and a 7 lbs Yorkie) It would be nice to stick with something they can both eat. Please help me on that one. Thanks guys !!! Nic :)

I have researched both the top brands of dog food and raw diets as I have a dane that is impossible to keep weight on. My vet recommends Purina Pro Plan, but I heard that it's worthless. I think if I stick with kibble I will go Canidae, but I don't know if I want to do that or go raw.

Tell me which one is better and why. I think raw would be really healthy and I know my dogs would love it, but then I worry about diseases. And since Canidae is a good kibble at least then I wouldn't have to worry about viruses, but then I worry is that the best for my dog.

There is so much information out there for and against raw that I am confused and unsure, so hey about you all see if you can help me out. Please give sound reasoning.

bottle feeding them every 4hrs , and keeping them warm , after reading various pages , i wonder when will i be able to leave then 6 hrs throughtout the night , and how many weeks before they will be able to lap milk, ....in desperate need of a decent nights sleep and a spare few hrs during the day........arghhhhhh thanks

My dad has severe allergies, but never has had a problem with poodles. Would he have problems with yorkies? I have seen websites that say they are good for people with allergies, but I just need to make sure.

Ok so my friend helped me get a puppy from these people and it cost $649. I wanted to get my grandma the dog she always wanted and we like him and stuff but he isn't the right one for her. Is it legal to sell it without going back to those people? Or could i swap it with another puppy from someone who is selling it around the same price. I love him but it isn't up to me, cause i live with my grandparents. I cannot talk them out of it and i hate to think of him as an object to 'swap'. But i just wanted to know what you guys think. Cause there is a guy selling a puppy through the newspapers, the same species, age, and it costs $600. $49 less than what i bought so i was going to ask him if I could give him my puppy and he give me that one and he could sell mine to a good home.

I have a dog his name is Baillie and we got him from the S.P.C.A he is an Anatolian Shepherd, they originate from Turkey. We never knew there was dog even called an Anatolian Shepherd. Did you ever here about this dog?? Do you have one?

my mother hates animals. I've been asking for a dog for about a year, and I've haven't gotten anywhere. My dad doesn't care if I get a dog, but my mom has the final say. She thinks I am not responsible enough, because she thinks I am totally unorganized. I'm an 'A' student, and I admit to being "scattered", but it's something I cannot help. (I'm only 13 y.o.) She knows I love animals, and I've told her many times that I will take full responsibility for my pet. I think having a pet will help me become more responsible and help me build more skills (I think). I cannot wait until I'm 18 to get a dog, so how do I convince my mom I can handle the responsibilities?

we just got our dog 4-5 days ago from a high kill shelter in delano. since then ive noticed the area around her vagina is baggy and her nipples are enlarged. she hasnt been eating her food and she is less independent. our other dog who is only 4 months plays with her, but im not sure she plays too. is being protective of her pouch? i want to kno how many she is, well the approx. what do i do? i dont know if ther any babies inside since ive felt her tummy. ive read that pregnant dog eat more, but mine doesnt. how can make her eat. i think she is also sick because she has developed a cough, like you would when you have phlegm in your throat. i really just want her to get better.

I bought my puppy dog treats last night and she ate one and this morning her pee was orange/red. At first i thought it was blood but it wasn't. Can the dog treats make their urine turn colors? i got scared and nervous and called the vet and they acted like it was no big deal. Any answers would be helpful. Thanks!

my dog died on July 06, 2007 due to a reaction from a surgery
he was only 4 in human years
he was a chihuahua mix and was absolutely adorable he loved to play soccer and i still miss him and havent' gotten over it
please help me feel better =(
he was the best dog ever

I've had my dog about 3 months now. I take him on a daily walk and he usually does his business. I used to take him on one at night too. Now, between getting a second job and the weather I don't always have the time or desire for the second one. I have a backyard but he can sneak out of the fence so I have to watch him when I put him out. However, he either just stares at me or takes a leak and comes back. Within 10 minutes of coming back in he's usually crying about having to go. Repeat cycle. I've tried associating the word 'potty' when he's going #2 and then saying it when he's out back but nothing on that front. Any other ideas?

PS. For anyone planning to answer this "You should walk him however much he wants" please skip to the next question. I'm looking for practical help.

my dog was fine when she left. she went to a breeder's and they only have male dogs and now that she is back we cant put her down or let her out of her kennel cause she attacks the other dog and idea's on how to get the little brat to stop?
