He is throwing up the pedialite the vet said to get and fighting me to put it in with a syringe but refusing to drink it normally. He is sleeping alot but his breathing is weird.I am trying to get 1 syringe full in him every 20 to 25 minutes but he may get only a fourth of it it seems. He is still pretty strong for a puppy and manages to spit most of it out and throw up the rest.He was on an IV at the vets all night and got off of it at 10 thirthy today.i am looking for all the help I can find to save his young life and with him now 24/7.He is sleeping presently. His stool is nasty water with an extreme nasty odor but not too much.He has been put on sulfasalazine,250mg every 8 hours.Any other suggestions??

My dog. It's a 2 year old maltese and it just won't stop barking. I tried to comfort him by carrying him but ir just doesn't work!! So for now we just put him in a room alone, but that doesn't work either!! He just scratches at the door and shakes it. I need help. When relatives come into my house, he sniffs, then barks and then starts biting theier pants. People think my dog is useless, but I want to show people that my dog is trained and is nice. For a 13 year old kid, I'm not very good with dogs. PLease help.

If I play with my puppy and then we're done and we leave her alone in her area, she gets separation anxiety,
or wants to play more and barks because of it. It's very loud. If we ignore it she eventually stops, but it takes a while. Or we can address it by doing the Cesar Millan thing and "shh" and snapping fingers and she stops, but then starts up again when we sit down, so I have to go back and do it again and again. I am wondering if doing that would be considered attention to her and any attention is better than none....or if ignoring it will work better and she will eventually learn that barking won't get our attention, even though we
have to sit there and listen to that piercing bark.

Well I'm trying to get an English Bulldog, and I found an ad in Pennysaver, and I contacted the man who had them, and he told me someone had already taken the last 2, but the person who did is a priest and is in West Africa for missionary work and the weather is too harsh for the puppies there and he wants to find someone who is willing to take them and adopt them back into the country.

Well I contacted him and he sent me this

Hello Shaddie.
First of all, I must thank my living Lord that I found an intending parent for my babies, I also give thanks to the breeder that directed you to me. I`m giving them out for adoption. They are 4months currently and Akc registered all their shots are up to date. They are $400 each

I apologize in advance for this one!

BUT...has anyone ever tried draining their dog's anal gland? I wondered if it was easy enough for me to do myself. How do you do it? I usually take her to see the vet and have him do it, but he claims I can do it myself. Ick, I'm not looking forward to it!

After weighing the options before me -- to breed out my first
generation labradoodle or not -- I have decided to go ahead and have
him neutered. Henry is now 12 weeks old. When I adopted another dog @
12 weeks of age, he was already neutered. But my vet said that they
usually wait (due to maturity, etc.) until 5 -6 months of age. Is this
normal?

my dog had an accident a few weeks ago,i left him tied in my backyard waiting for someone to pick him up,but i realized too late that i forgot to call a person to pick him up! he ended up spending the night there he tangled himself in his leash(hes only 5-6 months old and being cage trained, not really used to a leash)
and my neighbor, instead of helping him, called animal control.
they just removed him,and left a notice on my door about what happened and where to pick him up for when i got back the next afternoon.
so long story short we found him,and brought him home,
very happy to have him back with the family...
i was 17 years old at the time,
i just turned 18,and we got some fines and summons to court about this today in the mail,
and they are all for my mother! who was nice nough that weekend to pick up my dog for me, because i still dont drive yet..it turns out, that because they asked her for her id,they put everything in her name!
he is scheduled for liscense/shots fri.

Hi!
I'm quite interested in crossbreeds (but please tell me if you think I shouldn't be) - I won't take offence unless you're really rude! lol everyone's entitled to their opinion and I appreciate your advice.
So, anyway to cut a long story short, I really like crossbreeds (mostly poodle crosses) but I am honestly NOT interested in all this designer dog buisness. What I am interested in is getting a puppy that suits me.
So basically, what I want to know is if you think a cavapoo (cross between cavalier king charles spaniel and poodle) or a cockapoo (cross between english cocker spaniel and poodle) would make the best pet. Or if neither, can you reccomend another breed?

Thank you!!

From Beccy xx

I rescued a poodle off the streets, got him neutered and the vet thinks hes about 1 1/2 years old. For some reason he growls at my younger brothers (16 and 14).

He has a sweater on ( he has very short fur and its getting cold ) and whenever my brothers touch his mid back he tries to bite. Sometimes he just growls.

I dont get it because he is just one of the sweetest dogs i have owned.

He is very good with my young nephews ( ages 8 and 6).

I have 3 boxers. They are all from the same breeder, but different litters. The oldest male is 3 years, the other male is 8 months and my female is 18 months. The breeder said they were all of show quality. When buying them,I had no intention of showing them, but now I want to.My aunt has showed her labs for 17 years,so I talked to her about it,she told me that because Jake(3 yr old) was white in color,I wouldn't be able to show him. He's also neutered.I didn't realise that a dog had to be a certain color. Is there any way to get around this? And who came up with that rule?????
I brought them to a novelty charity show once and Holly(the female) got best in show.

Is it to be SURE the animal gets fixed? Why can't everyone get their young pups fixed early, too? Of course I know about health issues doing it early, so then why do shelters do it? See my confusion?
If I could-I would do it as early as possible, but I do wait until 6 months.
