guys its not a crappy room it belong to my brothers other dogs but he had to put them done, but basically when my brother had his dogs there he brought them a heater but he put like a metal barrier so his dogs didn't go near it, and it heat up that room very well, dont get me wrong you guys i love my dogs they were inside in da basement in their own warm room, but my dad needed da space to make and extra room.so my dogs had to move to the other room that belong to my brother dogs

Insulate the windows and any doors leading outside. Use the plastic kits from Lowes. Make sure there is good lighting. Winter has less light and can make our furry animals more depressed too. Make sure they have nice warm beds to curl up in.

*EDIT* I'm really confused. It sounds to me like the dogs won't be outside....they'll be inside in a room that is near the back of the house? Is that right?

I have an American Pit Bull Terrier that is an "outside" dog. It doesn't get very cold where I live, but I usually insulate the inside of her dog house with hay or pinestraw. I also found a thermal heating pad for dogs at our local Petsmart. She loves it!

I'm going to apologize for those ppl that leave rude remarks about owning an outside dog. Seriously, I don't understand what their problem is. It's probably because they have dogs as "accessories", or use them as cute objects to look at. I think a lot of people are too busy trying to treat dogs like humans, instead of letting them be dogs.

Most dollar stores have these rolled up flannel blankets for $3. Stock up!! Easy to wash and oh so very, very warm. Also check Goodwill for cheap blankets. Several heaters are somewhat safe for dogs, but I'd stick with many blankets as the safest alternative.

My pit bull lives in the house and is a member of the family.....too cold for him to be outside.....bring them in the house......they deserve it.
