you might have to kennel him before you get him fixed. that is a nice reinforcement and my dogs love their beds they go to them at night and during the day when i am at work and before people say that isa cruel you are tottally wrong. my dogs get walked and patted a lot every day they are out of their kennels from 3:oopm until 12 or 1am. that is plenty of time as i run them walk them and love them. its a great guide for training.on the weekends they are out all day as long as im home all day. i dont do this because they are untrained i do this because i cant watch them all day to make sure they dont get into mischeif. i have a lot of free animals so they cant all be out during the day it just so happens is easier to lock the dogs than the cats. its great and soon they will take them selves to their beds during that time and you wont have to lock it they will just stay there and keep their nose clean

This is what un-neutered male dogs do. Neutering him will help, but at this point you'll need to work on breaking the habit as well.
First, get something like Nature's Miracle or Simple Solution and THOROUGHLY clean all areas where he has marked. If you can, move furniture in front of his favorite spots so he can no longer access them. Next, whenever you are not right there watching him, keep him in a crate or a bathroom or laundry room.

HA! why on earth did you wait so long..... in many cases , a dog at this age has made marking a habit.... neutering will help with marking , at this age, somewhat.. the health benefits are worth the neuter... get it done...

Don't know if neutering him will help now since he has already picked up the habit. If you neutered him when he was young, it might have prevented him from the natural instinct of lifting his leg. Good Luck.
