I bought my puppy dog treats last night and she ate one and this morning her pee was orange/red. At first i thought it was blood but it wasn't. Can the dog treats make their urine turn colors? i got scared and nervous and called the vet and they acted like it was no big deal. Any answers would be helpful. Thanks!

Yes...Depending on what the ingredients are.

It's the same thing that happens if you eat Broccoli or Asparagus - Depending on the vitamin content, your urine will turn different colors.

Have you ever taken a vitamin B pill? You'll get NEON pee a couple hours later. Same thing could happen to your dog. I hope you didn't get some cheap Ol Roy treats or something from Walmart that are just full of dyes and crap. Good stuff isn't color-treated.

How old is the dog? Treats should not change her urine color. High levels of calcium can though so if they were milk flavored they may have had enough calcium to change the urine.

Yes its possible. I don't recommend a lot of treats they are not good for your dog.

It is possible, but I wouldn't recommend to keep feeding her the treats espically if it scares you.
