There is no such thing as a teacup chihuahua. Teh chihuahua standard is a dog not over 6 pounds. anything under 3 pounds are often very sickly ( they are runts. Most don't live past 5-7 years instead of teh 15-20 years a chihuahua should live.
I myself breed somewhat smaller and often have pups that should mature 3-4 pounds.
I have a litter now just born yesterday and another due.
I would never suggest getting anything under 3 pounds.
Of course once in a great blue moon I have had a pup thet doesn't mature to 3 pounds and they are never for sale for the health reasons.
As far as where to get plese dont' have one shipped. i live in Virginia and have had people come all the way from NY it depends on how far you want to go.

1. "Teacup Chihuahuas" are a sort of gimmick. It's just a fancy word breeders use to sell the teeny tiny runts. (Not that I have anything against runts, I just don't think people should try to sell them for hundreds of dollars more.)
2. You can find Chihuahuas for sale in your local paper, on the internet or from word of mouth. Maybe try asking around if anyone knows of a good Chi breeder. If you can't find any that way, check out your local shelter if they have one. (You could go to your shelter first if you want. ...The doggies there really need a home and are less expensive than a puppy.)

The correct spelling should be Chihuahua. Unfortunately, there's no such breed called Teacup Chihuahua. According to AKC, there's only one size for Chihuahua. Those backyard breeders call the runt of the litters teacup so it sounds cute and sell for high prices. If you want a Chihuahua, you can look around your local shelters and rescues.

First, search at petfinder.com...you can type in your location and what you want and it will bring up names, places, breed, & pictures of the dogs. Most of them on there are from rescue places or shelters so they really need a home!

Second, If that doesnt work call up your local shelter or rescue places and ask first. It always good to try save a dog in a shelter rather than buy one from a breeder!

There is NO such thing as a "tea cup" chihuahua.

(C-H-I-HUA-HUA is how I remember Chihuahua)

"Tea cup" is a term used to describe a sickly, badly bred dog. If you're looking for a Chihuahua, look at www.petfinder.com. 5,607 homeless Chihuahuas!!! You should have NO problem finding your perfect pet, plus you'll be saving two lives (one out, one in to the shelter)!

Be sure to do your research though. There is a reason that Chihuahuas are a commonly surrendered breed.

Why would you want to buy the unhealthy runt of the litter? That's all a 'teacup' dog is.
