He is just a puppy and puppies will bite. You should never growl back because that is what his liitermates would do so you are basically telling him you want to keep playing rough. You should also not spray him with anything because he is just a puppy and is probaly in his teething stage. Puppies will bite. The best thing you can do is to give him a good tap on the nose, tell him no and put him either in his crate or wherever you would put him as a "timeout" are. He is a puppy but this is a critical time to learn the difference between right and wrong.

I'm not sure about puppy ages, it's been forever since I've had one, but he may be teething. A good idea would be to supply him with toys that you designate for chewing (easy to obtain in the pet section at any supermarket). Don't use old shoes, even if he's already destroyed them, as this will give the wrong message. When the puppy chews on something he's not supposed to, say NO in a firm tone then redirect the chewing to one of the toys. Eventually your puppy should get the message that shoes and the edge of the couch are not good gnawing posts. Also, when you notice the puppy going for one of the chew toys before he considers your loafers be sure to congratulate him with a pat on the head and some good words.

There can be a couple of reasons. There is the teething process in which case you are lucky as it will end. Just buy a teething toy. Of course there is also the biological fact that dogs play this way. If he is just nipping at you, it is done for fun reasons. He is a puppy and doesn't exactly know how hard he is biting So just tell him no and manuver yourself so that he can't bite at you. He could also be dealing with seperation anxiety and just acting out frustration. The best thing to do is give him alternatives of your choice such as rawhide toys. When he starts biting substitute what he is biting with with a firm "no" and give him the toy, when he accepts it praise him.

A 9 week previous canines has 0 concept of what's applicable habit. NONE it is an infant with tooth. Her breed has not something to do with this habit. this is a puppy getting to know to be a puppy and enjoying the only way she is familiar with how. purchase a stable e book approximately elevating a puppy. study it. while she gets mouthy, tell her no and supply her something applicable to chew on - a nylabone or a kong. compliment her while she performs together with her toys. tell her no while she is biting the rest. She'll learn. It takes time. you may practice her. She's unlikely to discern it out by potential of doing all that submissive Cesar Milan rubbish. Consistency and staying power gets her to act herself. save your face faraway from her while she's working aroun and burning off that skill. heavily, come across a stable e book and study it. you will learn greater from a stable the thank you to enhance a puppy e book than what we assist you to comprehend in some lines on YA.

he is a puppy and is teething like crazy. my puppy does the same thing. when he bites you yell, and make noise, say "hey, ouch", and things of that nature to get him to stop then give him a toy to chew on and praise him for chewing the toy and not you. if he starts bitting you again, just get up and leave and give him no attention. if you even say "no" again he is still getting attention and will continue to bite knowing it will get him attention. if you walk away, eventually the point will get across, "if i bite, no one will play with me" and you know a puppy does not want that. it will take some time but just be patient and consistent with it. puppies teethe for a long time so it will be a while before he grows out of it. remember, biting = no attention, period

OMG!!! I have a 9 week old puppy with the exact same problem; his teeth are like razors. When we took him to the vet, the vet told us that all puppies go through that teething stage from 8-10 weeks old to 6 months old. He recommended buying some hard toys or teething rings to make sure our dog doesn't chew on the table, my slippers, etc. Good luck with your little puppy!

puppies bite, puppies chew, puppies bark and do all that fun baby stuff. your job is to train him to do things you find acceptable in your house, and in society.

Do not encourage the biting/chewing of people or things. Tho puppies are teething for the next 6 months or more, you can direct him to chew on his toys. Be firm and constant with the NO, for wrong biting, and encouraging, and friendly with Good Chew, on his toys.

If he doesn't respond to your actions, keep trying. I usually add a pinch on the neck with a slight shake like the mother would have done with my NO. I don't hit, since hands are for petting, not hurting. He'll respond to the training fairly fast, since puppies like rewarding responses and like to please you too.

Good Luck!

A puppy likes to bite because of teething. It hurts their gums so they need relief. Give him a teething toy and lots of attention. Teach him early on that biting is a bad thing.
