Our chiuawawa dog Ginger has been pregnant for six weeks now. It was crazy and kind of funny how it happened.
Okay my grandma said she thought the dog was in heat or whatever and we put her in the garage because she went in the house. Well this little black weener dog kept coming by the garage and then they would start barking at each other for a little bit. We kept having to make the weener dog leave but it kept coming back. This went on for about four days. On the fourth day we took Ginger out for the bathroom and I live in Apple Valley, CA so we have these big backyards and there was a hole in the fence that we were not aware of. We saw the black dog and Ginger run toward the hole to the dog. My grandma started to scream to get Ginger because she ran out and as we chased her, she and the dog ran accross the street and started doing it. OMG. When the saw us catching up, they ran even further and started doing it again. It was so funny.

We searched germany and uk for mini daschunds. But didn't find one until we found a Breeder in the USA that will ship to us. We are on a military base and have limited access to some american sites, since out I.P. address is germany. But we were wondering what are the requirements that we need to have done for the puppy. Its a mini Daschund thats not a year old even. Does anyone know of any links that would be useful? or have done this before. The Breeder says she has shipped out of the USA before but has not shipped to Germany yet and doesn't know what would need to be done. So we are in need of a few answers. Any links, any information, anything that can be helpful to us would be great for my husband and i to hear. Thank you!

I just gave my dog a pill that I obtained and he started vacuuming every room in my house! I am pretty sure he was counting every tile on the floor of my kitchen. His head was shaking back and forth whilst doing this.

WHAT G IVES, AND WHEN CAN I EXPECT SUCH BEHAVIOR TO CEASE?

We might get a miniature beagle puppy. I never imagined getting a beagle, but this dog seems very good-natured and the father of the owner even claims he's obedient. I've heard they're stubborn and noisy. Anything good about beagles?

i need introducing help! my 2 year old male pom is scared of my new 11week old female pom. he starts kicking his feet and runs away. i put her on one arm and him on the other and he tries to run away. shes really bouncy and he's more laid back calm and used to being the only one, he has not been socialized like she has. help??????? also im scared to put them on the floor alone together (of course i watch) but im scared she jumps on him bc she is so bouncy and he wants nothing to do with her and wants just to run far away. im worried he might bite her. he acts scared and holds on to me /claws me tight. she just is bouncy and very very playful. should i just let them stay on the ground together and quit being worried or what is the easiest thing to do and why is he so scared how can i fix that??any help is appreciated!!!

Hey. I have a beautiful Golden Retreiver whom i love to bits!! But i've always at some point of my life wanted to own a Great Dane. I have a fascination for big dogs.
When my dog is older i'm thinking of maybe getting a great dane depending on my lifestyle circumstances. I think they'd get along really well!!
Can anyone who owns or have ever owned a great dane tell me about them. I heard they're beautiful natured. How old have you gotten them to live till. I've read that their life expectancy is 6-8 years.. anyone got their great dane to 10??
Thanks for your answers

What is your opinion on breeding? Do you think some breeds should be bred more than others? Are there are dog breeds that should not be bred at all? Why?

My dog is a very hyper 3 year old female chocolate lab.

yesterday or the day before my dad took her to the park and she played in the water, he said she didn't get water in her ears

yesterday she was fine today about 1 hour ago we went downstairs in the garage where she lives and her food had come out about half and hour ago. she always eats her food right away and she was still in her crate, shaking/ shivering ( she never does that!) and she was gaurding her head..she loves to be pet!! But she didnt want us to touch her only the top of her head also she was acting very strange kind of with her tail drooping eyes very tired. HELP!! what could be wrong wiht her!!!!

We might take her to the vet later on today..could it be something she ate? also she did go pee 5 or ten minutes ago.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to the vet, they can no longer nurse from the mother, is this true? He said that there is something in the milk that fights against the vaccines. The mom looks like she is in pain from having all that milk and nobody to drink it.

I haven't been in the dog food isle of the grocery store for a while . I have been feeding my puppy canidae but it seems lately she'd rather starve and eat her own poop than to eat that . I may try feeding her canidae or innova when she gets older or something. I dont live near a store that sales healthy dog foods and I cant just keep traveling back and forth to the specialty petstore thats like 80-90 miles just to try out healthy dog foods to see which one she likes. Right now she'll only eat the purina pro plan puppy food for large breeds ,thats what the vet gave her. I just want to know if I can get that at the grocery store or does the veternarian have to get it for me ?
Thank You

Have 2 large dogs, with fleas that will not die,I have used flea shampoos, treated the yard, the house, and frontline didn't seem to work eaither.I wait a week after a bath, then apply, and I am applying on the skin.I just tried adams flea and tick, let it sit for he time it says, rinsed and half the fleas died, but their are still alot alive. Can they become resistant to the active ingridients in the shampoo's, sprys, etc.?Are they supposed to die on contact with the shampoo or die slowly? last week i bathed the dogs, the next day, they were infested again, like I never gave them a flea bath. our german shepard has a flea allergy and has severe itching with 1 flea let alone infested with them.does advantage have the same active ingridiant as frontline? advantix?

Our family has decided we have gotten to the point that a dog would be great. Yahoo used to have a dog breed recommender, I can't find it anymore. I keep doing searcheds on the net for another breed recommender, but none of the links seem to work. Anyone know of a dog breed recommender that actually works? We haven't decided if we want a big dog/little dog; short hair/long hair (probably short hair now that I type that...) we have cats and a 2 1/2 year old...I know the recomendation is waiting until the youngest is 3 (almost there.) I want time to research the breed and make an informed decision. Any help/ideas would be appreciated...

Yesterday I woke up to my dog shaking her head and I looked in her ear. It is red and irritated, and has little black spots in it. I googled "ear mites", and I think that's what she has. Should I try an otc med before I take her to the vet, or should I go ahead and take her first?
Any info is helpful, thanks!
