Use a shaker can. It's a soda can filled with 15 pennies. Whenever your dog barks shake the can and give the command "No Bark" in a stern voice.

Good luck with that. No really I have a mini-schnauzer and we have just had to teach him the word no. When he barks we will make him sit or lay down. This usually works, he just needs to calm down and when he is calm he does not bark. When this does not work I will try to give him attention or take him for a walk to ensure that he is not barking due to lack of attention or exercise.

Get a spray bottle like that used for styling hair. Immediately after the dog barks, spray him with a small jet of water. Continue to do this consistently. Eventually the dog will associate barking with the negative consequence of being sprayed with water and will only bark when it is supposed to.

terriers seem to be barkers its pretty natural for them. I had a schnauzer and she was the barkiest.
