Have you tried going to regular dog training class? Usually potty issues are easy enough for any dog trainer to fix. Ask them for advice. You will get the bonus of being able to get some training done with your dog, and the price will be right.

i adopted a one year old lab that had been severely and regularly beaten by her former owner. She was afraid of everyone and everything. I brought a trainer into our home- I just found her on the internet under dog trainer. I paid $40/ hour for 3, 1 hour sessions. She gave me the tools to work with my dog.

It is 2 years later and my dog is great. I have since adopted 2 more problem dogs and they are great too.

Good Luck

The kennel that I do my dog training through has animal behavioralists. The initial session with them is $125, but they talk with you 1st to make sure that you really need it. After that it varies depending on your dog. I added a link to the kennel that I'm talking about below. If you live in Bangor, ME then here ya go! But if not hopefully this will give you a better idea of what animal behavioralists do and what they charge

Yes, they do have behaviorists for dogs. We went to one for our puppy b/c he was jumping up and very mouthy (still is). Our vet has an onsite behaviorist so your vet would be a good place to start. The behaviorist charged us 70.00 for about a 2 hour consultation. It probably is a good idea to rule out medical possiblities first though. Good luck!

Ceasar Milan the Dog Whisperer. I have a friend that called him for help because her dog won't stop barking at everything. He came to her house and helped her out. Not sure how much he charges.

If you are close to any Vet College, they usually have one. They can be pricey, so rule out any medical issues first!!!!!!!

Your vet can give you someplace to start with and a referral if needed.
