A fellow pet owner advised me to spank her with a closed fist. I do so only when she goes to the bathroom on the carpet. She is resiliant to being house trained. Her hip has poped out of joint twice, but, obviously, I do not spank hard enough to break her leg. I think that it is redundant to visit the vet with this because if I had enough money to bring an animal to the vet then I have enough money to have kids (and visit pediatricians) that I do not yet have.
My boston terrier is 4 months old and doesnt use that leg to walk. Do you think that she will outgrow her limp since the leg will grow (especially leg muscles) and mateur from here on?

He's six months old eats healthy - doesnt shed too much. The one near his eye is a clear white skin showing bald patch and the one on his snout is also almost clearly skin showing. Is this something i shouldn't worry about? I have two pups - could the other one have been constantly biting his hair off from this part of his snout and eye? Has anyone else noticed this happenning?

I have a 7 year old basset hound and she is has been shaking on and off for the past two weeks. At first it appeared to be just her front legs, so we thought she hurt them, but it's all over now. We have taken her temp and it's 101.3F

My Chi got ahold of a gourd that many people get for fall decorations at the grocery store...the bumpy funny looking ones they sell with the mini pumpkins. It was out of his reach (I thought) but he managed to jump from the back of a couch onto a decorative table then onto the dining room table..go figure. Anyway he gnawed off the top of the gourd. Its hard to tell how much he may or may not have ate. Does anyone know it these have a potential toxin for dogs. He is not showing any signs of stomach problems but it was only a few miniutes ago and I'm keeping a eye on him. Thanks!

Bear has constantly been getting up and started limping, but after walking on it for a few minutes, he's back to normal. Lately, he won't respond to his name, and is is too much pain to lay down. My dad refuses to take him to the vet cus suposedly "he's just fine". Does he have a serious problem that for sure needs to be taken care of by a professional?

my dogs know the basic tricks sit, stay and shake (paw) but they have bad manners they bark too much, tear apart things. their not vicious dogs they would never harm anyone but its just the general things they need to work on like no tearing things up or not barking in the middle of the night.

...for the first time. We took him to the vet and got all his medicine so hopefully they will be gone soon...my question is does this mean there is a flea infestation in the house? should we spray the house or something? and could I possibly get fleas too?
