What does the incident over Iggy the dog between Ellen Degeneres and Mutts and Moms reveals about how much America love our animals?

I am helping to run a dog show in a few days and have still had no luck on finding something to hold up the show ring.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Will you pay $200 for a miniature dog? I know it depends on what kind of dog but lets just say a simple kind of breed.

I am torn as to whether to take my puppy to the vet. I am extremely low on funds (college student) and a typical visit to the vet here costs at least $100. I have looked up low cost options, but the only things offered are vaccine clinics.

Anyway, my puppy has repeated itching with his hind legs. I found a few fleas on him about a week ago, but there are no signs of them left (he had a capstar flea treatment, and I cleaned the whole house). He also has a cough. However, he has had this since the day I got him. When I took him for his first vet visit a month ago, the vet told me that the "cough was on its way out" and there is nothing to do for it. The vet also gave him the bordatella vaccine. This cough seems to get MUCH worse when my puppy is laying down, such as last night when he was in his crate. He was asleep, I came into the room and he woke up, coughing horribly. This only lasts <5 seconds, but it is intense. Vet or no? Should I wait and see if these symptoms get better?

I'm not sure I want those dogs as they are tremendous barkers, these are the main traits I'm looking for, Easy to train, doesn't shed too much, isn't too big, toy-small size preferable, not a barker, only requires a calm walk everyday, reserved around strangers. Please help me out! Results I've gotten from quizzes have been pretty much miniature dachshunds and corgi's but their both notorious barkers~!!!

My dog was the victim of an unprovoked attack by a notorious neighbourhood dog who was running loose - is there any product(s) legal in the UK that I could carry during walks to prevent a repeat occurance (this dog is meant to be kept tied up but the owners ignore all instructions to do so) luckily my dogs injuries are not as bad as they could have been due to her heavy coat offering protection, she sustained several scratches and two bad heamotomas (blood blisters) above her hips that will cause her pain for around 2 weeks until they clear had she fought back or been a short coated breed her injuries would have been far more serious possibly life threatening.

I now feel that it would be wise for me to carry a deterrant when our walks resume as the owners do not and will not tether the dog (or build a fence).

Any help or suggestions please.

Hi!

We have 4 dogs. 2 basset hounds named Bubbles (mom) & Ashley (her daughter), a long-haired Chihuahua named Sugar, and a Mini Pinscher named Tyson.

But among them, I'm mostly attached to Ashley. :)

How about you? :D

I might get a puppy... a corgi. But I'm not sure if it would be ok or not for a puppy to be left alone at home from about 7am to 4pm every weekday. How old should a puppy be before being left home alone for that long? 3 months?

He has got the kids on his side too, I know I am the one who will end up cleaning up behind, feeding and walking the dog. He has enough money to care for the dog but just not the time. I dont want the dog, so why should I care for it?? I mean even if a dog ended up coming here and I didnt want it, I still wouldnt be cruel to it. I mean I would care for it if they were to irresponsible. But just becausse Im not ignorant enough to ignore it doesnt mean I want it. So how do I keep them from getting a dog that I am gonna be stuck with???

I have a little chi, and she has a heart problem. She is 12 years old in January. I know she is getting old, but she is coughing alot, and the meds help, but unless i give her the tusigon for sedation for relaxing, or lasik pills to relieve stress on her, she coughs all the time. Sometimes perpetually. She does seem at peace at times..not coughing just walking around. She eats really well...almost too good. She wags her tail when i get home, she just getting tired. I know i am the best judge of when, but while she is coughing alot, i do not believe she is suffering. Does anyone have any ideas about this? Maybe someone has been here....? If so, i would appreciate a response. Thank you all so much...

I just want to know what people hosestly think of pits and rotts here. I love them. Personaly I have a rottie pit mix and he is asome! My grandpa and uncle have pit bulls and they are asome too. My mom's freind has a dobbie that hated water and then she asked me to come over to help her! After about a week or 2 he swam in the water by himself. I just want to know what you think of them.

Hello, I was thinking about possibly getting a Morkie. I've researched both the Yorkie and the Maltese breeds. I've found that Maltese should be under 7lbs preferrably 4-6lbs and Yorkie should not exceed 7lbs. I've also researched videos on "YouTube" of people who own a Morkie to see what the dog will look like when it gets older because as we all know puppies are cute and adorable but we often forget what's in stores later on. BUT I also know that when you have a mix breed it usually gets BIGGER than that of the purebreed genitics. I've also researched what/how their temperment is like but I had little to no luck on that. To people who own a morkie or know someone that owns a Morkie, How big do Morkies really get? What's their temperanet like? Are they "easy" to train? What are the most noticeable charecteriistic that the Morkies resemble from the Yorkie and the Maltese?

My dog is small enough that I can pick him up when he is in danger. But yesterday when I did this, the attacking dog (which was not on a leash) jumped on me and bit my arm to get at my dog. I feel this is no longer a good strategy.

I HAD 4 small mix breed dogs. All but 1 has come down with an illness and the vet can't tell me what it is or how to keep them from getting it. The symptoms include: laziness, lack of appetite, tremors, then seizures. It starts with them just being lazy for a few days, then they will stop eating/drinking, The tremors start and within a few hours later they will begin seizing. Has any one else experienced this?

How much more work is it to have two dogs, rather than just one? I have one dog now, and I really don't have any problem with taking care of her. I mean I don't see it as a burden at all. We have a schedule for walks, going out to go potty, feeding times etc. We take her every where with us, from just to go pick up a movie from the video store, to going on a weekend trip to the cottage. I enjoy having my dog with me every where, and she enjoys the company of other dogs. I want to adopt a second dog. He is a senior black lab. So he is pretty mellow. Have you been in a similar situation? Is it very different from owning just one dog? I don't know if I am going to be able to adopt him yet, but I am looking for answers that might help incase we do adopt him.

I'm very upset. My dog is my best friend. She is a 8 1/2 year old female and she is a chocolate lab. She's really big like 80 pounds. We got her when she was a puppy (like 1 year old or somewhere around that). She always growls at me and other people. My stepdad always yells at her and he thinks that solves it. It's not working! I'm very upset and I want my dog to change her behavior. Any tips please!?
