A Wolf Hybrid!!! :)
I have owned over 11 wolf hybrids in my short life. They are great dogs. What some may say about them being evil, crazy, untrainable, and so on, is just untrue. Its just an excuse that was made up by bad dog owners who have bought one, and had know idea about training and what not, and just blamed it all on the dog. If they had bought something like a Labrador or Golden Retriever, they would have most likely have had the same result in how bad their dog turned out.
Wolf Hybrids are wonderful, friendly, loyal and loving dogs, that people are scared of just because of made up myths and rumors.
I would trust my wolf hybrids with children of any age, they won't hurt anyone.

My Wolf Hybrids are half German Shepherd, and the puppy in my avatar is one of them.

A good place to get one from this breeder.

She has a lot of info on them, too.

Siberian huskies are climbers and diggers. If you keep them in a fence they will go over or under it. I have a 5 month old black lab. I have never had one before. He is a very smart dog. He has been very easy to train. He is going to be rather large. Our last dog was a Rottweiler. He also was a good dog. He was not as smart as this lab though. Read up on the breed that you decide before you get it. You do not want to be surprised by how certain breeds act or their special needs. All dogs need exercise but some breeds need it more than others. Good luck finding a great dog.

If you get a husky make sure you have no carpet you'll be vacuuming every day. Also where do you live climate wise, this should play a big part in your choice of a dog breed if you live in a warmer climate a husky and other fur bred dogs aren't a good choice. For they tend not to handle the heat as well as dogs that have hair and can be trimmed or short hairs like rotties or dobbies.

Maybe a Siberian Husky is better. But my REAL opinion is:

Many people think different. They think those are best and those are worst, so don't compare them, they are still the same species and all of them can be best for different people.

And my answer as a good BIG DOG pet is a Labrador Retriever (I think).

There isn't even a decision there, I like the Rottie the best. But that is my personal preference. A small Rottie taken at about 5 weeks, but now more than 6 is just right!
Soon Rotties will be just as disliked as pits, and that is because of irresponsible owners (humans).
I would like to find out more about a Bernese Mountain Dog.

I love Golden Retrievers and Irish Setters. They are the sweetest, most gentle dogs. They are really good with children too. One thing to remember when getting a large dog, is that they need LOTS of daily excercise. Do some research and find out what dog will fit your lifestyle. Not every breed of dog is for everyone.

Well it sound to me like you made up you mind!
You should get a dog that will fit with your lifestyle.
It doesn't really matter what big dogs everyone else thinks are the best, they will not be at your house taking care of it, buying food, taking and paying for the vet visits or puppy classes. Get one thats best for you.
For me the best large, or rather x-large breed is the mastiff.
