The same brand that he's been thriving on. It is never a good idea to change to an elderly dog food just because the dog reaches a certain age. If he is doing well, don't change his food.

It will give you something to think about not feeding your 7 year old dog.
There are a lot of good, nutritious foods out there. Many people chose a brand based on how their dog does on the food. Go to a store that sells natural, organic foods; not the grocery store. They will answer your questions and help you chose a food appropriate for your dog. You may want to try different foods over the course of time (I did). The above foods seem to cost more but they are cost effective in the long run. Dog needs less food, less poop because less filler and crap in the dog food, fewer vet bills due to dog illness.
Just my thoughts and how I came to decide on which food works best for my dogs.

Try Innnova

I reccomend feeding a Innova SeniorPlus dry food.

It's really on the expensive side I must admit. But dogs eat a lot less of Innova so the bag will last longer than cheaper brands.

Or Canidae

lots of good food out there, do your research. Get a quality food though. Chondroitin and Guclosomine are good for a seven year old...... look for a good food for a almost senior dog. Stay away from grocery store foods...... Canedae, Go Natural, Innova, Wellness...... like I said, do your research.

Science Diet Senior. We've got an 18 year old that's been on it for over 10 years.

the EVO is very rich & may be too much for your dog at this age.

Nothing from the grocery store or WM. a holistic food is best for the dog IMO.

no corn, wheat or soy

You might consider something like Canidae All Life Stages. Or find some other suggestions here:
