Why are puppies born with worms? Is it from the food their moms eat or immune systems so low?

It is from the mom. Even if you worm a bit ch really well, the parasites can encyst in the muscle tissue, when she becomes pregnant, the hormones cause them to be released and then the puppies get them.
You alwasy worm puppies and kittens. If you have a litter, you owrm pups and mom at 2,3,4,6,8,and 10 weeks.

I have a really good worming protocol for my dogs, and I have still had puppies fecals test positive for rounds. Most vets will not even bother with a fecal and just worm them anyway. Even if the fecal is negative, the puppies can still have rounds at the next fecal check.

It could be that mom got worms somewhere and they were passed to the puppies. Just get them wormed. It doesn't cost much and it's well worth it.

It is from their mother's milk. What little immune system puppies have is from their mother's immune system. Not all puppies are born with worms. My puppy didn't have any worms. It also depends on when the breeder weanes the puppies.
