2 large bowls are good but its better to give smaller meals more times during the day just like people its better for us to eat many small meals during the day then 1 or 2 huge ones but a good idea is to get one of those dispensers you fill it and as the dog eats out of the bowl it puts more in then from what i feel your dog will eat when it wants to, as much as it needs, and when it wants to
p.s. i have owned 8 border collies in my life 6 are still alive (oldest at 14 years old) and no im sorry to tell the people on here not ALL border collies are allergic to beef... only 2 of my 8 dogs couldn't eat beef (my vet has agreed that they were not allergic)

Check the puppy food package - it tells you how much to feed based on the weight of the dog. And do a lot more research on your dog, if you're having troubles knowing how much to feed it, be prepared for a LOT of work related to a Border Collie.

I think twice a day is fine I have 3 large breed dogs and they eat once early morning and once around dinner time.(a bowl the size of a large tub of butter not quit full, per dog) at first I thought this wasnt often enough so I would sneak extra food out to them when my husband wasnt looking,( he said I over feed them) after a while they started gaining noticeable weight. They werent near as active as they previously were. So I laid off the extra food and after a while they returned to theyre normal active healthy selfs. Just always make sure your puppy has an ample supply of fresh water at all times. Good luck and take care of your new bundle of joy and he will be good to you.

He needs to be on a puppy food with no corn, wheat, soy, beet pulp, or cellulose. This will let him live a long happy life. Also bc's are prone to allergies and this will avoid most of them. If he is on a food like this than feed him about 2.5 cups (8oz) per day per 10 lbs of body weight. You will decrease this as the puppy gets older. Take the food and split it into three feedings. Around 6mo you can cut back to 2 per day but right now he needs that extra boost. If you need more advice please send me a message and I would be glad to help!

Hello i raise border collies. I feed our borders twice a day a 1.5 to 2 cups each time. Are you aware that borders are allergic to beef.. please don't give them beef. Plus borders need lots attention and space to run. They are the best breed of dog i have ever had. if you would like to know more about borders contact me.

an 8 week old puppy first - shouldn't be away from its mother yet. 2nd should be getting 4 meals a day & a late nite snack to keep its glucose level up during the nite
a reputable breeder would have explained all that to you
not only should you have done your research on puppies before getting one, but you should have researched this breed thoroughly - they are not for everyone & I see impending disaster here
