Why do you tell people to get their dog spayed? What gives you the right to tell others whether or not to breed their dogs? What makes you worthy of giving such opinion on what dogs can be bred, and what dogs can't be bred? Who made you so high and mighty?

I understand there are irresponsible breeders out there, but that doesn't give you the right to lecture others on mutts, breeding mutts, breeding for the better of a breed and so on. It is like people telling other people whether or not they can have kids. It is very rude, disprespectful and extremely degrading. There are nicer ways to ask someone to get their dog spayed than to insult them by putting in that they're not responsible owners and crap like that.

Perhaps it is just a personal perferance that someone rather not get their pet spayed or neutered. Ever thought of that?

And whether or not a dog is worthy of being bred is not your opinon. There so happens to be many mutts that I find much better than purebreds.

Splotches came fast and don't itch. The hair has not grown back and he has had this at least 6-8 weeks.
Doesn't sound like Mange because itdoesn't itch. I treat with Advantage monthly for fleas.
I have applied various topicals as suggested by my Vet.
What could it be?

I have used flea bombs in my home, i've bought 7 different types of flea medication for the dogs, and i've had the yard sprayed. The dogs are no longer in the house but there are still flea's every where. The flea bombs must not have worked and i've done it twice. Any other suggestions?

I just turned the tv off because I can't bear to watch the 203lbs rottweiler Bo (Bodell Princess, I think). I've seen the show before, and while the dog is so fat she can hardly move, the owner - a nurse by profession (!) - refuses to acknowledge that the dog is morbidly obese. She just goes on about how her dog - like all women - of a certain age gain a little around the belly and hips, and "when her dog dies, she'll at least know she gave her dog a good life" (I was tearing my hair out, and had to turn the tv off, rather than watching this lady twice.)
I remember that this lady refused help, as opposed to the other owners featured, and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this dog, and if her owner came around and helped the dog lose some weight, someone took her dog away, or if the dog died from all the weight??

I feel so bad for the dog, and I get SO angry with people who abuse their animals this way, just to make themselves feel good about themselves for a sec

Ellen truly believed she was doing the right thing by adopting the dog in the first place and when she realized that it might not work out she did a very good thing by trying to find the dog a better home. How many people would take the trouble to put the dog's interest first?. I think that when she first adopted the dog it was her intention to give Iggy the best possible home and that is what she did by giving it to the other family. They obviously could give it more and she wouldn't have done that if she could have looked after him better. Why did the agency approve her in the first place? They must have trusted her. Does anyone know if the agency screened her by coming to her house and inspecting where the dog was going to live? They would of known she had cats and if they had done a proper evaluation on Iggy they would have known he was not suitable for a home with cats and ended the adoption proceedings right there. If the agency failed to do that then THEY are in the wrong.

He had a very bad start in life & was very ill, underfed + physically & mentally abused when we got him 9 yrs ago. He has always looked pretty pathetic but is a real tough guy & has thrived with us. When we got him he already had heart murmer but after settling in with our other dogs he has always behaved like a puppy. He recently started coughing a lot & vet explained what can happen when heart valve stops working properly but with short course of medication the coughing stopped for a while. It is now back but we have heard that major treatment only prolongs the inevitable & the animal often suffers for longer with little benefit or quality of life. We will happily pay for treatment but do not want him to suffer, he has been such a happy loving little soul. I dont want him poked, prodded & distressed or filled full of medication with side effects if there is no cure. I would rather just keep him comfortable & let him go when the time is right. Can anyone with experience advise please

A few weeks ago I noticed that my little bitty chihuahua had big scabs at the tips of her ears. At first I thought the vet might have clipped them together for some kind of cleaning, and pinched too tight. They healed....and now they are back!!!!

I called the vet and she said that sometimes little dogs have circulatory problems, and can't supply blood to their large extremities. My dog is two lbs and has very large ears! It's part of her personality! The vet said that basically her ears are rotting and dying because they aren't getting any blood to the tops. Horrible!! She said there is medication I can give my dog.

Why would my dog suddenly develop this condition after 2 years?

Has anyone experienced this problem with their small dog?

Someone hit my brother's family's dog earlier tonight with their car. They just kept driving but my brother's daughter saw it happen from the window. She says she saw the license plate of the car. Is there some law about not stopping when someone hits your dog, because it seems like there should be. My brother wants to know if he should have her give the police the license plate. Any help would be appreciated.

I want a mini daschund. I want a very young one, perferably unborn at this time so i can get it as soon as it is ready. I cannot decide if i want a longhaired or shorthaired. My aunt has a longhaired and it is so cute, but i love the shorthaired too. I will probably go for the short haired. Less shedding and hair everywhere.

Why don't people know that this dog, and shihorkies, pitadors, and all that other nonsense was created by a hustler who wanted to find a way to market his mutts? Why do people use living animals as trendy accessories? Why would you pay any more than an adoption fee for a mutt?? Oh, and don't these people know the multitude of genetic flaws that these so-called designer dogs could have, that there are no guarantees of health, no matter what the so-called breeder says? NO responsible breeder would create these mutts, nor would they sell them for purebred prices! Anyone who bought one of these dogs, call the cops, you've been ROBBED. Sorry, but this is just so offensive to anyone who loves dogs and understands genetics!

We have an 8 month old Baenji/Lab mix, Spartan. He has been a great dog so far, but has become a bit aggressive (wants to play to much) with other dogs. We adopted Autumn, (2 yr old, Border Collie/Lab mix) sunday 10/14. She is so shy. When she is on the leash, she is almost more trusting. She and Spartan have already really hit it off. He was very aggressive with her immediately, she growled and nipped and now it's not as much, he's already learned his place. She follows him around, lays down near him (not touching). We have two kennels, she goes in either and he just uses the other... he's been verrrry accommodating to her. She follows him around.

Problem is she won't let us near her. If we are playing with Spartan, petting, etc., she might come up, kiss, nose us, might let us pet her, but lots of times jumps away. She starts at loud and not even very loud noises and paces around our kitchen table (has extended now to the rest of the downstairs), nonstop.

Any advice??? I don't think

We just bought a miniature toy poodle for 300.00
He hadn't yet been to a vet, no shots and no papers. He is 10 weeks old. We have to get him to a vet....But aren't his shots way over due? I'm thinking he should of at least had those first shots by now. He is adorable apricot color.... Just wondered about those shots. Don't they usually get them at 5 weeks of age? Before they are even sold? Thanks
