I have used flea bombs in my home, i've bought 7 different types of flea medication for the dogs, and i've had the yard sprayed. The dogs are no longer in the house but there are still flea's every where. The flea bombs must not have worked and i've done it twice. Any other suggestions?

Yes, flea bombs don't work. But you know that by now!

What medications have you used on your dogs? You need to be aware that NOTHING from a pet, feed or supply store or supermarket is going to work. Stores are not licensed to sell the appropriate chemicals for safe and effective flea killing, so their stuff is just bottled random insecticide, much of it isn't even suitable for application to cats and dogs.

Go to a vet for some proper flea treatment - that is, Frontline, Advantage, Revolution or Advocate. Make sure you get them right on your dog's skin, not on their fur!

Get a proper treatment for your house too, i.e a spray. Ask a vet to order Skoosh spray in for you, it's new and pesticide free and it kills flea eggs and larvae as well as adult fleas.

I don't know what brands you are using, but here are my suggestions, it's what works for me.
I have four kitties and a Rottie and live in the country where they go inside and out at will. Never see a flea, I use revolution every month and treat my yard, just the acre right around the house, not the whole thing. I have never had much success with home remedies for consistent flea prevention. Shampoos and powders kill the fleas on them at the time but don't repel more from jumping on. You should try frontline (over counter), or revolution (which usually requires a prescription), and be consistent, use it once a month.
The eggs fall off and then hatch in your carpets, rugs, bedding, and furniture. You need to go to your local pet store and ask for a spray that is safe for use around your cat and spray the entire house, especially where the cats hang out. In the past I used Raid flea killer. Also, putting moth balls in your vacuum cleaner bag or canister will help to kill any eggs, fleas, or larva that are sucked up, and vacuum and change the bag or empty canister FREQUENTLY. Otherwise, they will hatch in the vacuum and crawl out later. If the pet goes outside you should also treat your yard. I use sevin dust. Apply just before a rain shower, or use a hose or sprinkler to wet the lawn immediately after application.
If the infestation of the home is too bad you may see persistent fleas and need to treat more than once, or call a professional. I know it's a lot of work, but once you've got them bad it can be expensive to fix. Also, once your cats are flea free, if they scratch a lot, then They may need to see the vet. They can develop a topical, or skin infection from digging themselves.
Hope this helps! Best wishes.

Flea collars should not be used with any other type of topical treatment such as frontline or revolution. Plus, they just don't work well, and pose more health risks to the pet than to the fleas. Good luck to you

I am a retired vet.Mop your hard wood floors with dawn dish washing liquid.(the stronger the better)Make sure you get the solution into the cracks at the base boards.
You can also use a methoprene or finopril based product (which will not hurt you).I forget the product that contains both but it is available in a mixture. It is the same thing that Frontline is made from. You have one effect of killing and the second ingredient breaks the reproductive cycle.
But,if you use the dawn and Vac. the floors if possible as well you will get rid of them .
sevendust is the best for the yard but, dawn will also work outdoors.as a matter of fact I even spray my garden every year as soon as it starts growing and NEVER have pest on any of my vegetables. But,as a vet I use to tell my poorer clients about dawn treatment and it worked everytime.

Get a nightlight and put a bowl of water with a bit of dish soap in the water. The next morning the water will have dead fleas in it. We put one in eah room that has carpet and the fleas were gone in 2 days.
