Did the vet see your dog to gve this diagnosis or just speak to you on the phone? As is said time and time again on this site - a diagnosis is not possible without a qualified vet actually seeing the dog. I would probably seek a second opinion just to make sure.
2lbs is tiny!! Did you buy this pup from a reputable breeder? You need to contact them and let them know about any condition such as this - this line of dogs should not be bred if there are heart defects such as this. At only two years of age problems like this don't bode well for the longevity of your dog.
i hope everything goes well for you and your pup.

Well I have heard this only if the dog has a weakened heart due to disease or a malformity, or diabetes. I dont think small dogs in general have just poor circulatory problems, but then again I am not a vet. If thats what the vet says, then they have to have some sort of way to tell this is exactly the problem. If they are just guessing thats not very proffesional. You need a diffrent opinion. GO to a diffrent vet. If you get the same answer then, I guess you deal with it from that. The ears, tail, and toes are usually the first extremities to suffer from poor circulation so its not an unfounded prognosis. Though there is an underlying problem that you need to get a handle on. If its a heart defect causing it there is little you can do with out medications and treatment.

Well i would image that dogs, like humans', health declines as they get older. Maybe as the dog got older and bigger its little heart just cant pump enough to reach that far out. However i dont understand why the vet cant clip off part of its ears so it dont have to deal with the pain i would image is there. And appearently there isnt enough blood flow to harm the dog trying to shorten its ears. Hmmm.... I dont know, I'm not a vet. But i hope her ears get better before its a bigger problem. Good Luck.

Was she at the vets and then had this problem?
also make sure she is not allergic to the food you are feeding.
and she isn't having a reaction. You can try some bag balm
on the boo boo's or tea tree oil. Both are toxic if ingested so
just rub on the boo boo's and see what happens. Bag balm has healed up stuff that even the dr told me it couldn't.
Try rubbing her ears if it's a blood flow problem, But it sounds like she had blood shut off there,,, you might not be paranoid to think the vet tech could have made a mistake with her.
Happens everyday.

Umm, yeah, now that you mention it, my dogs ears are smaller than they were when we first got him. He is 15 now..that must be why people think he isn't a chihuahua. He still has perky up ears but they aren't the big satellite dishes he used to have. I always thought it was from being frozen when I had to take him out in -40 weather (Yes it gets that cold here and NO, I never leave him alone out there, but he has to do his thing.)

Thanks Kat Lady.
I wish I could help you on this one, but I have not had any experience with anything like this with my chihuahuas, nor have I heard or read anything about it I think I would consult another vet and ask them their opinion on this. Like I said I wish I could help, but I am stumped like you are. Good luck with the little one. You have a tiny there!

I'm not sure that is true. If Chihuahua Mama was here she could tell you...try asking when you notice her .
