unspayed dogs are at major risk for uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, mammary cancer, and pyometra. a dog wont die from not spaying it but rather from the problems associated with not spaying. and yes, i have encountered several dogs that have ended up with the above named diseases as result of not spaying.

Dogs that have not been spayed are more prone to deseases and other health problems but just because you do not spay you dog doesn't mean it will die sooner than another dog. They are also more territorial if they are not spayed. I personally recommend spaying your dog so that it will prevent her from becoming pregnant and this will reduce the millions of pets that are euthanized every day because there are so many unwanted animals. You can get this done fairly cheaply at the SPCA. You are really doing you dog or cat a favor by having this very simple surgery done.

well not spaying your dog does not medically kill it.
Now the flip side is that is you don't spay your dog, (remove the uterus) then there is a probability that it could get a pyometra, which is an infection in the uterus, which if not attended to, will kill the dog.
If its a small dog, and gets pregnant, it could have puppies stuck in the birth canal because they are too big, and have to be surgically removed, or again, the dog will die.
If you do not spay your dog, she will have a heat cycle every 6 months or so, because thats natures way of keeping the species going. Annoying for many owners.
So, preventative health care says spaying your dog will let her live longer.

All the spay surgery does is keep your dog from having unwanted puppies. I reccomend that you get her spayed because there are over 100 dogs who don't have homes and are living on the streets. These dogs often become agressive.

there are possible and common complications to dogs not being spayed. they have an increased risk of cancer like mammary tumors or an increased risk for lymphoma. also they can get horrible uterine infections called a pyometra. which can either be open or closed, meaning it can rupture inside your dogs stomach and make her septic. if this happens and you dont get her help immediatly she will die. it is better to get the surgery done now rather then wait for somthing to happen.

Getting a canine spayed before their first warmth cycle can help decrease the prospect of mammary maximum cancers (i.e. canine breast maximum cancers). Even getting it performed after the 1st few cycles can decrease the prospect. often, a spay technique is very ordinary and usually performed. Your vet can talk soreness mananagement strategies with you including oral soreness relievers and having your canine positioned on a cone to evade it from licking the incision. at the same time as a spay is very person-friendly, like with all surgeries, there's a probability from the surgical operation itself (including bleeding or the incision web site establishing up) or from anesthesia. regardless of the undeniable fact that, a pragmatic vet is familiar with and knows those hazards and there should not be a extensive probability for anesthesia if your canine is healthful. additionally having the canine spayed purely before being in warmth, facilitates decrease the prospect of bleeding. at the same time as you do no longer desire to have your canine spayed just to evade her from having doggies, you need to evaluate that the main substantial reason. there are literally hundreds of undesirable animals born and euthanized in line with annum. you isn't waiting to observe your canine each and every minute and it purely takes one breeding for a muddle to be made. The doggie mismating pictures are actually not friendly and reason greater soreness and injury to the canine than if she grew to become into spayed.

If you do not have the surgery, she'll go into season, possibly get pregnant and that's where death can become involved. There are always risks during pregnancy. She could also develop pyometria and left untreated that can kill her. In my opinion, if you are not actively showing your dog in competition with plans on breeding her in the future to improve the breed, the fairest thing to do it spay your girl.

The ONLY thing that happens to dogs who do NOT get spayed is they will continue to get PREGNANT and have puppies over and over again UNTIL the owner wises up and takes the dog to the vet to get her spayed....

All dogs go to heaven...at least. No they won't die without it but they are more susceptible to diseases just like guys are when they don't get circumcised. So whether it's spraying or neutering it's good for your female or male doggies out there. It can keep them healthy, not so horny, and more relaxed. All of our indoor dogs have had it done but we didn't always with our farm dogs & they all lived to be a similiar age. Of course then the farm ones slutted it up and got pregnant & we had puppies to find homes for when they got preggers. If it's going to be a pet you owe it to the dog unless you're going to responsibly breed it for it's pedigree if it's a show dog.
