How do you get rid of it

I have a dalmatian, rottweiler mix and he's overweight, not by much I think, maybe 90 lbs. We took him to the vet (his name's Lucky, btw) and we were told that ife doesn't loose weight, his heart won't be able to last. So, we put him on Beneful Healthy Diet, and take him out regularly (about 2-3 times a week) for a mile walk or run.... okay, maybe a 1/2 mile, but still. He seems to be loosing weight and all, but I want him around for a long time. He's 5 years old, just turned five on July 4th. I love my baby and I wanted to know if there's more I can do. We take him in (for free) to get him weighed every now and then. He seems to be fine, but is there something else i can do to help his struggle?

I just wanted to know because I know akc is a good registry. However, I don't know why everyone says such bad things about the others. For instance, someone saying it is not a purebreed if it is not akc. I have an aca dog and I don't see anything wrong with the registry. She has a pedigree to show her lines just like on akc. Now ckc I know why that can be bad because you just send in a picture. I just want to know what everyone thinks!

What about other animals like kittys and birds and even rodents(hamsters, gerbils, rats) and bunnies etc etc? Are there places like puppy mills where these animals are treated cruelly and bred to death and killed when they are of no use to them anymore? Also, what can I do to help stop these puppy mills besides not buying dogs from pet stores? All ideas/suggestions are welcome.

My 5 month old puppy just started getting "dog breath" it is horrendous.

It is far worse than usual dog breath. I have been giving him omega 3 suppliments. This may have something to do with it.

How can I cure his horrible breath?

My ex and I adopted our dog last year, we broke up 4 months ago and she left him with me. Even when we were together she said that the dog was mine she never took care of him. I have paid for everything vet, food, ect. She is threatning to take him from me. The adoption papers are under her name, but I have taken care of him from the beginining. But everything else are either in both of our names. Since we broke up she hasn't seen, feed or taken care of him. Can she take him away? Is there anything that I can do? Should I get a lawyer? Please only serious answers please. This is really stressing me out.

Thank you.

My question is do these shows allow an audience or is this just for breeders? Do you have to pay to go to the show? (how much?)
Sorry if my questions are dumb but I dont really know much about dog shows.
Here is the link to the shows Im talking about : http://www.akc.org/events/search/index.cfm?action=get_shows

Hi we just got a new puppy, we currently have a 16 week old puppy. When we got the first puppy he was younger than this one and he was so active and playful, and this one will not even move. If we put her down she just sits there and acts terrified. I am just worried. i am doing everything possible to make her feel really comfortable. Does anyone have any advice. i understand that every pup is different but I have never seen a puppy act so scared before.

Am I just freaking myself out.

THANKS

My 3 year-old female mini aussie is really nice and social, only when it involves me touching or even talking about other dogs, she gets so jealous and jumps up to my face to lick it and say "don't forget about me!" this is really annoying! How can I fix it! It just recently started happening, and now it gets really aggrivating! HELP!

I have an alarm system with ADT. We have a motion detector, and my dad is saying that it will pick up on dogs (we're planning on getting a dog soon), and go off.

Questions: Would there be anyway I can get a motion detector that won't pick up on animals and go off? Or should I just keep my dog in a room while we aren't at home?
Do you have a dog (or any other animal)? What do you do with having a motion detector in your house when you aren't at home? Any suggestions?

I don't feel right leaving my dog outside (especially for long periods of time). Thanks in advance.

Before I bought our Yorkshire Terrier for $1500.00, I asked the breeder if the dam & sire were AKC registered she said "Yes" and that I would get the form in the mail soon. When the form came I discovered the dam & sire were registered with ACA, NOT AKC. Also, the breeder didn't sign & date the form as she was supposed to before sending it to me. When I told her the above, she got very huffy and said I am lying!!! I told her she deceived me. Also, because the dam & sire are not registered with the AKC, I requested a refund of $700.00. If she won't comply, I told her I will take her to small claims court. In the paper she advertised her puppies for a price of $800.00 up. I don't think it fair that she charged me $1500.00 without AKC registration of the dam & sire. Thank you very much for your answer to my initial question above and any other thoughts you may have about this situation. Thank you, Bonnie Doe
