You are allowed to watch the dog shows.
Just bring a chair with you!!!!
There usually is a fee or entrance fee for spectators. Every place charges a different amount. Sometimes there is no charge.
Your questions aren't dumb. I am glad you are showing interests in the shows. Have fun! :)

spectators are encouraged and very welcomed at AKC dog shows. There is usually no entry fee for spectators...just the dogs. You will also have the opportunity to talk to breeders about their breed. Just make sure you don't do it ring side when they are ready to go in the ring. This can be a very intense and focused time for the breeder/handler. Talk to them after they show and the best time to do it is to go to where they are set up. That way they can bring their dog back after showing and give the dog water and allow them to rest. Have fun and good luck!
oh...yes..you may need to pay for parking.

Most outdoor dog shows are free, maybe you might pay for parking. If a big special event is being held in a big inside hall, arena there may be a charge. A great place to go to check out different breeds and what they should look like. Also there is usually vendors that you can buy various pet supplies from, sometimes there is even free samples. There is also specialty shows for just one breed of dog if that is your interest, just go to the link you mentioned.

They do allow an audience.
I'm showing this weekend and cost for spectators to get into the show is $5.
In the events listing look for the name of the club putting the show on, then visit there website. Look under upcoming events and they might have the admission posted there.

Some shows require a parking fee, some shows require an entrance fee (some require both, some require nothing). If you go to an outdoor show, dress comfortably, the show goes on, rain or shine. Pack a lunch and make a picnic out of it. Feel free to ask exhibitors as many questions as you wish, just remember that if they're preparing to enter the ring, they may be preoccupied. Also, never pet a dog without permission.
Have fun.

Some shows the spectator fee is not too expensive at all. To attend the AKC Eukanuba National Invitational in Long Beach, the spectator fee is only $14, at least it was last year.
You can usually pay at the door, if you are only attending.
It is very fun to watch these shows, and even more fun to participate! After your first show, you will probably want to get involved yourself, and find more about your favorite breed that you saw.
Also, some outdoor shows and many agility events are free to just watch. You may want to look in to those.

There are other dog shows to go to where you'd be welcomed as a spectator.

to find agility shows near you. Only AKC events Do Not Allow Non PureBred Dogs to be on the show grounds - all other venues allow every kind of dog to come along. Have fun!

Go to the Tibetan Spaniel Club of America and ask for a local show near where you live for information regarding local shows.
