Could be an allergy or sensitivity to something in your dog's food (the supermarket brands and so-called "premium brands" are heavy on corn, which a lot of dogs are sensitive to) or something in the environment. My dog's skin was pretty flaky (and coat was dull) so I switched to a food with no corn, fillers, or by-products (Canidae) and noticed an improvement within a month. Some dogs, like some people, are more prone to allergy-symptoms at certain times of the year. Your vet can run tests, but you might get good results just by switching food and being aware of potential allergens in the house and yard.
Oatmeal shampoo can also be helpful, but if your dog is prone to dry skin, bathe only when necessary. Brushing more frequently (but gently) can help, too. If the condition doesn't clear up, or if it worsens, ask your vet for advice. Good Luck!

Dogs certainly get dandruff, Depending on the shampoo you are using if it is for PEOPLE it drys the dogs skin up causing it to flake. Oatmeal baths are very good for the moisturising of the skin and a sentitive skin bath such as a baby no tears products works well for me. Different dogs suit different products, just try and see what works best for you. Goodluck

Yes dogs can have dandruff. It happens when their allergies flare up or when they have dry skin.
Try feeding a high quality dog food, with no fillers and preservatives or wheat. Bathe them in a good aloe & oatmeal shampoo.
You can also take them to the vet and have an allergy test done to see exactly what it is that they're allergic to. It could be something in the food or even in your house.

With a bath in oatmeal dog shampoo. Or try woolite dog shampoo. They both work very well. They also make different types of sprays. But your best bet is an oatmeal shampoo or woolite bath.

My dog has "dandruff" when she has allergies. Are you feeding her high quality food, without any byproducts, wheat, or corn?
