He periodically gets an irritating rash in his ears and paws. The allergy will make him itch badly. If he gets a really bad case of the allergy he will get a huge cyst on his paws. We have had allergy tests (blood work) done by the vet -- and he does have some allergies to some kinds of foods. So, we have him on a diet of "raw" food to avoid the allergins in the food. We wonder if this allergy could be caused by the environment. Do any of your dog owners have any experience with these kinds of problems with your pure breed dog -- if so, what have you done to control the symptoms?

So my dog won't come inside after it turns really dark outside. She'll bark and bark, b/c thats when the other dogs start to bark. She also gets this huge running start and runs straight to the wall trying to jump it. I'm afraid she will be able to later, b/c she is still young, turn 1 on Sunday. The neighbor who lives on the other side of the wall, has a boy mutt thats nueters. My dog isn't spayed and hasn't ever gone into heat before. She won't come inside when i call her, but when it is light out, she'll come in right away. Can you help me? I don't know what to do to make her come in right away. I love her alot and show affection too, so that's not that reason. Thanks!!

I've always wondered... Doubt I'll find anyone here who knows, but thought I'd ask.

This is a UKC breed listed in their breed list as Little Lion Dog. They also have the Lowchen listed, so it's not the same breed. http://www.ukcdogs.com/RegistrationBreeds.htm Anyone have a clue what this breed could be?

This may sound strange but my dog bites her toe nails (the two in the middle) on each of her hind feet! I never have to clip those four nails. Where she chews on them is a really nasty looking reddish-brown color. Could someone please tell me the best thing to use to clean them???

Okay, here's the situation....................

I went to the vetinarian because my dog's back leg wouldn't move. The vet said that my dog, a pekingese, had a disk problem in her rear legs and body. For the past couple days, she's been stationary and her excrements are filled right under her. Since she can't move, she's been biting her legs that itch her. She has built a rash and an inflammation. The vet said to wait to see if her disk heals. If not, she has to be put to sleep. I don't want that to happen. She's only a year old. Do you guys have any other solution?

There was this cast thing I saw on Television. It was attached to the rear of the dog and it had wheels. The dog had to move through her front legs. I don't know what it's called. Will that help. Any info on that device? Any help or solution? Please.

ok - I feel like I have tried all the tricks to find a chew toy that will keep my puppy entertained. I have tried kongs - various types with various food treats in them, I have a sqeaky toy, a rope, a stuffed animal, have tried rawhide (doesn't like). I can't seem to find anything that will keep his attention more than a minute or so. Anyone have any other ideas???

Last night my family had to put our family dog to sleep... shes was a Rott and 14 years old (90 sumthing in dog years, the vet said for a dog her size its rare they live that long) recently she had been having seizures and losing her ability to walk see and she was having trouble breathing... 3 days ago she stopped moving... we were holding out hope they she would pull through but the Vet's said is was just her time to go. yesterday we decided to end her pain and have her put down... she wouldnt even open her eyes ... when we took her to the Vet she was very softly but roughly breathing but wasnt responding. we asked for one final check up and the vet said we were making the right choice in letting her go... when she was given the shot her head came up like she was in pain... and since she hadnt been moving in days i became scared and wondered if it hurt her to go. i cant get the image out of my head. did it hurt her? did we make a mistake? will i ever get over the pain?

I came across some little bumps on my dogs skin the other night when I was scratching around his neck. He seems to only have them around his neck area and he is being unusually itchy. There little smaller then pea size and I can't really get a good look at them cause he has so much fur that it's hard to see. Does anyone know what this could be? And where I live we don't have ticks and very few cases of fleas, and he hasn't been travelling anywhere outside my province (where fleas are more common) but I don't want to rule those out just in case!

My dog has to be tied during the time I am gone to work so he does not get into the cables around the house and air condition unit. I walk him around a few blocks for 30 minutes when I get home. When I go inside he has to be tied down. I only let him loose when I stay outside.

Hotspots?
I have never had any experience with hotspots personally, but i came home last night to find one of my dogs missing fur and red hot spots on his back leg... Although he is not showing signs of pain i know he has to be experiencing pain.

Any treatments would be appreciated!
