Hotspots?
I have never had any experience with hotspots personally, but i came home last night to find one of my dogs missing fur and red hot spots on his back leg... Although he is not showing signs of pain i know he has to be experiencing pain.

Any treatments would be appreciated!

Azmira rejuva gel or spray. This is a deeper problem though. the dog is having an allergy probably to the food. Try taking him off grains and chicken and beef if you can or try something with no corn, wheat or soy if you can't find anything without grains. Corn wheat and soy are the 3 most common allergens followed closely by chicken then beef.

There is a spray commercially available - I think its called Sulfadene. Works well to help alleviate the pain and itching caused by hotspots. But if it is a hot spot, the dog can develop OCD and chew even if it isn't irritating. At that point an E-collar needs to be used.

Go to the drug store and buy a can of Bag Balm. It comes in a small green can. Its a sauve and works wonders. It was originally made for farm animals to treat their skin problems, now people use it, and I use it on myself all the time as well as on my dogs skin spots. Give it a try. Its great.

Are you sure it is hot spots? There are other things that can cause loss of hair, virus, ring worm, thyroid. You might want to take him to the vet to be sure.
