My dog has to be tied during the time I am gone to work so he does not get into the cables around the house and air condition unit. I walk him around a few blocks for 30 minutes when I get home. When I go inside he has to be tied down. I only let him loose when I stay outside.

I think a stuffed dog would suit you better.

And no 30 minutes isn't enough if you're only walking it once

I'm not trying to be mean, but tieing up a dog that much is just wrong.......

How long the dog walks is a function of their energy level, not the breed or the size. Anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours a day is a good start. My 12 year old, medium size mixed breed walks 2 hours a day, one hour in the morning, one in the evening. She would walk another 2 hours a day if I had the time to walk her more!

crateing your dog while your gone is a better option than tying it outside in the heat. You can get a cheap crate from wal mart or try craigs list. 30 minute walks are good but if there is a good dog park or large regular park that ur dog could run around freely, that woud be even better.

Well, a bigger sized dog can walk longer than little toy dogs. When you go for a walk defiantly put a harness on the dog, that helps for lack of breath.
