I volunteer at our local county shelter and I have to clean a dog that is dirty and matted and possibly has not been bathed for its entire life? Any products I can use on it, that will help untangle hair and make it easier to comb?

Anyone who says you NEED to feed your dog a high quality dog food is a low quality person. Not everyone is gonna pay $40 a week for their dogs food. Although we would all really like to we cant :( . Not to say were poor but we just cant spend $14,600 a year on our dogs food when we can spend half that for a dog food that makes them have just as healthy as a life and as long as a life as the more expensive brands. (14,600 would be for a labrador retriever size dog)

Stop making people feel bad about what brand of food they get for their dogs. As long as they show the dog love and give him the excersize, water, daily food and attention he needs the dog will live a long happy life with the owner.

My question is...does anyone feed their dog the high quality dog food? And if so what has it done to improve your dogs life?

I have a question. I was reading about the Neapolitan Mastiff, and their temperment. That dog looks amazing!

What dogs look tough, powerful and confident, but are really nice and loyal in tempermant?

No need to mention Rotties or the APBT. To be honest, neither of them -look- very scary at all. I know they both make great pets if raised properly, too. =)

In Australia they have already banned some breeds of dog which are seen to be aggresive and dangerous. Is it fair to wipe out an entire breed because of a few careless dog owners?

seriously, all the people who have answered" pitbulls are viscious dogs" dont know what they are talking about.
why?
because they have never owned a pitbull before therefor they do not know what they are talking about

those people are the people who listen to the media. the lies the rumors.

pitbulls are loving dogs. and you dont know that because youve never been around one long enough to see how loyal and understanding and sweet they are.

they just get a bad reputation from people who mistreat their dog.

i mean, hitting your dog is like hitting your own CHILD.
otherwise called ABUSE. so dont do it.

thats why you hear that pitbulls are bad dogs or killers.

i mean has anyone ever seen the sandlot
and in it is a "beast" the kids had known him for being a killer from an urban legend. and in the end the dog was really nice.

so think twice about them please.
they dont deseverv it,

I'm an animal lover and really like dogs. My girlfriend wants to get a dog, and I want a pitbull. Pitbulls are extremely intelligent and dedicated to their owner (if trained properly) She doesn't want a pitbull or a rotweiller. I dont want a rotweiller either, but I really think pitbulls are beautiful animals. She said she wouldn't mind a bulldog. I wouldn't want to get a dog that she didn't approve of, although she too is an animal lover, and I know if I brought home any dog, it would be cute and special. What should I do?

I want a tiny teacup yorkie puppy that I will be able to take EVERYWHERE.. I would like to see the puppy first and be able to pick it up in person, i do not want it to be shipped.. I would prefer a male puppy, and would like to know how big the parents are and about how big the puppy will grow to be. Thanks for all help!

Hi. I've been relying heavily on you, recently, Yahoo Answers. =) There are some really bright, informative users out there with knowledge hard to find anywhere else. Personal experience. =)

For quite some time I've been looking into getting a dog of my own. A very long time, really. I just can't settle on what breed to get. I have had a few picked out that I've extensively researched, but I am not going to mention them here so as not to sway what you suggest.

The size of the dog does matter. I do not like small dogs. None of them. Toy and small dogs are just annoying to me. It's not that I hate them, they just aren't my style. I have room for even the biggest breed, easily, and can handle even a very active dog. I love going for walks myself, and I'd love to sit at a park and throw the ball with a dog, but, I can also accept a lazy breed to just hang out with. I'd like to be able to throw the ball once in a while at least, though.

-More to come in added details. Long question! =(

It is IMPOSSIBLE to dry my hair or vaccuum. My 9 month old akita/husky/lab mix will bark uncontrollably and try to attack the hair dryer, and or vaccuum. There is no way of even trying to say no. He also will not let me sweep or mop, he chases them and bites onto them. What is his reasoning behind this ? ?

I have a 4 month old boxer puppy that seems to pee and poop only when she is inside. I take her outside several times, but she doesn't do her business. Once we come into the apartment, she decides to. Also, she tends to eat her poop. I need some advice on how to get her to do potty outside and also to keep her from eating her poop.
