Whats the best shampoo for a german shepherd puppy?

whats the best shampoo to use on a puppy? and how often should I bathe a german shepherd pup if it lives outside?

Personally,I love Fresh and Clean by Lambert -Kay.The original gold colored formula keeps your dog smelling wonderful for a few weeks,and their oatmeal shampoo smells great,too,and is nice and mild to use on a puppy.

Oh,and you really should try to keep your puppy indoors,at least for part of the day,or he won't be well - socialized.German shepherds get bored really easily,and keeping them chained or penned can lead to aggression problems.And,you should only bathe your pup during warm weather if he's living outside,unless you live where it's warm all year,or can keep him indoors overnight after a bath in cold weather.

Why are a few of us getting thumbs down for recommending shampoo? Stupid!

If you decide to keep him outside then he will be much more likely to get a lot of fleas and ticks so you might as well get some flea shampoo.
How old is he? The puppy stage can last a year. Depending on how young, you may need to use puppy shampoo. And if he is still very young, living outside is not the best idea as its possible for him to catch diseases and may not be big enough to do ok outside.

I always use Johnson's Baby Shampoo on my dogs. It's gentle and won't burn their eyes. You don't want to bathe dogs too much because it dries out their skin. I would ask your vet how often to bathe him. I bathe my dogs every six to eight weeks, sooner if they smell.

I use Dawn dish washing liquid. It cleans very well. Just be sure to rinse it all off. Hey, if it is good for oil soaked wildlife, it is good for my babies. My dogs get bathed about every 3 weeks, more often if they start to smell bad.

Go to the pet store and pick up puppy shampoo.The brand does not matter.You should bathe him about once a month.If you bathe a dog too often you can dry out his coat.
