Tomato sauce, juice, paste or even V-8 juice if you don't have any of the others listed. Rub her down with it, Get it all over her. The longer is sits the better (even tho you may come out with a pink dog if shes white! lol) Then rinse it off really good. Towel dry. Don't use a hair dryer it will bring the smell back out. When you can get her to the vet take her and get her bathed. They will (if the smell is still bad) but doggy perfume on her. Don't give her a bath for at least a week after you get her home, it will wash the perfume off if bathed too soon! While your bathing her check her for bites! More than likely she didn't get bit, but check anyways. If your in the city call the local animal control(shelter) and have them come put out a trap to catch the skunk.

Well I was going to answer but I think there is a consensus... Yes tomato juice/paste/sauce works. You have to redo it every couple of days for a few weeks. Hope your dog isnt white lol. And I would recommend shaving it too... If its in the eyes, nose, mouth, general face area, rinse with cool water for several minutes, well not in the nose just squirt him a couple of times in the nose then let him snort it out. Skunk spray actually stings on skin (personal experience) so do this quickly it can damage eyes and has been known to occasionally put a dog into shock if they got a full on facial.

I just went on the internet and found a ton of solutions. I just typed in " remedy for dog sprayed by skunk" and got all kind of remedies. Make sure the dog didn't get bitten because skunks are known for carrying rabies. Good luck.

Get a tub of tomato juice and let your dog soak , the acid from the juice will eventually mask the skunks.

bathe the dog a few times the first week with tomato juice and then dawn. or find a solution at your pet store just for this purpose. i worked at a grooming shop as a brusher bather and had to do this, except i used the solution instead of tomato juice and the dog had to be seen a couple times a week for the first couple of weeks.

I agree with "The Broken Planet". Bath your dog in tomato juice. It does work. Poor dog.

Yep, put her in a small tub and bathe her with several cans of tomato juice. It's the only thing that will work.
