She is on omega fatty acid supplements that my vet gave us to stop the smell, but she still STINKS few days after a bath. What can I do? I bathe her every 2-3 weeks, I use a dry shampoo 2 times a week, and she still smells. She has no skin conditions or infections. What can I do that won't irritate her skin but will keep her smelling good? She is part of my family, and even comes to the office with me. I've noticed that seeing eye dogs don't smell that bad, and they are out and about all day every day. How are they kept smelling good without over bathing them?

Do you think that if the breed or breeds (if mixing) have a predisposition for hip dysplasia that they should be x-rayed? Or do you think it is OK to breed if your dog doesn't show any signs of it?

Do you think that you should run tests to verify that your animal does not carry and genetic defects? Or not?

Why or why not?

(apologies if I got the terminology wrong)

Have you ever used them?

Do you still use them?

Under what circumstances would you use them?

Are they particularly useful for training for some jobs more than others?

Could you also post links (if you have them) to any useful info about them please?

For many reasons I am scared for his soul. Here are a few of my concerns:

1) He sniffs the behinds of other dogs.
2) He is NOT in a mongomous relationship.
3) He has "special relationships" with other male dogs at the park.
4) He licks his private parts.

Someone please help! I want my dog to have good, Christian-like behavior!

By the way, please, only SERIOUS answers this time.

Thanks!!!

I have tried tying her up for the day and putting her in the house so she cant play with my other dog. i even put her poop where she digs at and it works but then she finds another place to dig. she does this in the middle of the night or early morning. im at my wits end. when we raise our voice she knows she is doing wrong but keeps doing it.

When ever he gets excited, he starts breathing really heavily and makes snorting noises for about 30 seconds ... he's been doing it for as long as I can remember, but I'm worried it could be a sign of something.
He's a 2 year old toy poodle, if that helps.

I am not using him to fight, I love him too much for that, But I do want him to be able to attack any strangers(other than friends and family) when I tell him too. He is great with other dogs, my mother has an poole and they get alone great. But when people comes over that he doesnt knows, he began to bark then run and hide. I dont want that!

How much does a small aprox. 8 week chihuahua cost? Where do you get a dog? I've seen at petco and petsmart but they are all sick and they arent babys. I've seen some that you can order online? Informative answer gets chosen.

We have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier (our moose!) and she is obsessed with biting at, licking or picking at her front paws and hind leg feet. Her nails are not long, but should have a trim soon before they do get long.

Question is, why is she doing this?

She is quite active (very spunky!), is 7 years old...is well-fed and groomed and loved. Our environment isn't chaotic, but our 4 year old does, at times, play hard with her. Could it be boredom? Stress? OCD? Is it time to call a vet?

I'm not sure what kind it is, but she was just laying there and it came out and start moving across the floor. It was thin and white.

She's about 7 years old, so I dont think it could be roundworms because I thought they had to be puppies before they could get those...

It could be tapeworms too, but i thought that they never actually came out in one big piece, i thought they just broke off in segments.

What do you think?
And yes, i'm taking her to the vet sometime next week when I'm off work.

My pomeranian has become a thorn in my side. She is loosing weight, going deaf, stinks no matter how often I bathe her, avoids family contact, and pees on my carpet every night. I really can't stand the sight of her anymore. If she at least wanted to have something to do with us I wouldn't even have this question. With 2 small children I can't stand the thought of them on the carpet were the dog peed even after I cleaned it and my house is beginning to smell of dog pee. We just put down brand new carpet when we bought this house a year a go and now its nasty. I shampoo the carpet everytime I find a spot but that's not enough. Should I feel guilty for not wanting to keep my dog even though she is getting old and becoming infirm?

I have read about crate training alot and they say that puppies eventually LOVE their crate. My 8 week old puppy goes to bed well but between 4:30 and 5:30am he needs to go to the bathroom. The problem is he does not want to go back in after that and he cries and howls for about 45 minutes. How can I get him to enjoy his crate and let me get some sleep until I can get up with him for the day? Is this possible?

about 4 minutes ago, i get some froot loops and i couldnt even walk to the retarded living becuase the dogs just went nuts around my legs, like they couldnt get to the food any faster, (ones a stupid beagle) so this beagle jumps and gets in front of me shaking and taunting me like "what are ya gonna do what are ya gonna do!!!!!!!!!" so i decide to pour some and they spread all over the place on the floor, and that stupid dog just goes at the speed of lightning, it doenst have to take a second for the cereal to enter her mouth, her mouth is like a vaccume, and when it gets her mouth she looks at me like "okay next!!" and whats worse is that she desnt even bother to ENJOY it, she just swallows it whole, then i had to stand there and watch my other dog choke and hack up for like 10 seconds all becuase she couldnt slow down. dogs are like sooo hungry!! if i was a dog and they act like that around food, i would be totally embarassed!! it just doesnt make any sense for a dog to act like that

Are we (UK) soon to see Staffordshire Terriers banned the same way Pit Bulls have been because of idiots taking a perfectly-natured breed of dog and turning it into a raging fighting machine? Will we become like Germany where ALL Staffies had to be destroyed when a total ban was implemented?
Would you, if you're a responsible Staffie owner, allow the Government to take your pet away from you and have it destroyed just because of it's breed?
