When I'm sitting at my table to eat my dog will sit right below and sometimes jump up to get the food. She's 3 years old and I'm wondering how I could stop her from doing this.

Our dog just left the vet, with a diagnosis of possible glaucoma. We cant be sure since he was POSSIBLY pepper sprayed friday and the vet says that the pressure reading of 25 could be high due to the 'possible' injury or may be glaucoma.
She says that the normal pressure test is between 11-25...

SO....she wants Gentamicin durafilm drops in his eyes 4 times a day for a week and then recheck.

I'm just wondering if anyone here (maybe a vet) thinks this sounds like the right thing to do, or should I get a second opinion? Any simuliar experiences maybe?
thanks.

My Husband wants to get a friend for my dog. She is 10 yrs old and hates when we both are gone... She loves to play with other dogs, but I am skeptical... I would rather have a kitty, but my husband thinks another dog would be best. What is your opinion?

We can't leave him alone for more than 5-6 hours while at work or running errands without returning to a nice puddle of urine. We have taken him to the vet numerous times and tried just about everything. He will be outside once I get a proper house for him but for now he is driving us crazy with the puddles of urine inside. Please help!

I have had my two dogs for almost a year now, and i'm due next week. I always hear everybody talk about how bad pits are, he is a really wild dog, but i dont want to take any chances. My German Sheppard is not bad at all, he is the sweetest dog, but I need them to know my baby, and get use to him.

He's a Chihuahua and we're guessing Corgi mix. He's smallish and quite thin -- we're trying to fatten him up. He was on the streets then the animal shelter found him. He's healthy apparently and just got his operation. The vet said he just has to have some dental work done. Also, he's between 5 and 10 years old we're guessing.

My 7 year old nephew is fine with him, my 5 year old neice is usually okay but my 3 year old nephew isn't.

The 5 & 3 year old have a dog of their own who is big, loves attention and doesn't care what the kids do to him. The 5 year old understands certain things she can't do with my dog, who's quite small, but the 3 year old does not listen and keeps up whatever he's doing until the dog scratches or barks at him, then he cries. They're staying with us for the week and its getting on my nerves, obviously my dog needs to be a little kinder, but he just had his operation and he's very tender, the 3 year old tries to lay on his stomach and jump on him like he does with his dog. What do I do?

I went to florida for 5 days. My sister in law stayed at my home to take care of my Puggle. (1/2 pug, 1/2 beagle)
I left instructions to feed her 1 cup of food in the morning and 1 cup at night. We use a measuring cup to scoop her dog food. Well, when we got back from our trip, my dog was three times the size she was when we left.
She was feeding her the entire measuring cup of food morning and night. 5 cups per day!!
My dog has diarreah, but seems to be alright. We are cutting her food to 1/2 cup, twice a day to get her back to normal.
I am thankful that her little stomach did not explode! My sister in law has watched her several times in the past, I guess she forgot how to feed her!
I am still worried about my dog. It has been a day since we have been back, should I still be worried? Or just keep her on the diet until she gets back to normal....
Thanks

I would like to get a puppy for my daughter. I have decided against a Jack Russel as I am concerned for our guinea pigs, Yorkshire Terriers look cute and are about the right size but, have 'Terrier' in their title - will a Yorkie poise a threat to the GPs'? The GP's are securely kept in a run.

My family and I are planning to get a dog sometime this summer, but we are not yet sure about the breed, we have a smallish house, and my mom wants a dog that is medium to small sized (smaller than a golden retriever) but my dad does not want a toy dog, and we preferable want a nonshedding dog that doesnt have any special excersize needs, just like one or two walks a day. any recomendations?

I just got a 4 month-old female pomeranian, and have been working hard to housetrain her. She has a carrier crate for crate training and she's currently fenced off in the kitchen.

I've been faithfully taking her out to the yard every 20 min. to 1 hour during the day, waiting quietly for her to go so I could praise her. But she hasn't gone outside once! Instead, the ONLY time she seems to go is when she's unattended in the kitchen. I get the feeling she doesn't want me to see her do her thing and is just holding it in until we get inside.

It's so frustrating because I really want the opportunity to praise her for doing things right to build some positive reinforcement. I've tried to keep her in her crate when we come back inside but she doesn't want to go in and be cooped up.

So that's my story. Should I keep taking her outside hoping she'll go? Should I hide or something and try to catch her in the act so I can take her outside? Thanks in advance!

i have a 3 yr old dog, abby, who has never had pups however she is lactating because of a puppy we have. He is 4 months old and she nurses him. Her breast are breaking out extremely bad and are very sore. Is there anyway to get my puppy to stop stucking on her. and will eventually she dry up and stop lactating? if so how long does that usually take?
