Look at his teeth...look for red swollen gums in a particular area or a broken, cracked, or missing tooth. Also check out the roof of his mouth, his tongue, etc...I had a dog that chewed a piece of wood and got a HUGE splinter stuck in the roof of his mouth...I discovered it when he stopped eating and started drooling more than usual (it was infected by that time!).

Dogs can also drool when they have an upset stomach...if he's been chowing down on unfamiliar foods...especially spicy foods, dairy, and acidic foods (tomato sauce for example), that could be the cause. When this happened to my dog, I would cook up a big batch of plain oatmeal and feed him that for a couple of days...won't satisfy all his nutritional needs, but it's tasty and cleans out his system quickly.

Finally, and I don't want to scare you honey, but dogs that have been poisoned sometimes drool. Could your puppy have gotten in to anything that could hurt him like antifreeze, household chemicals, etc... If there is any chance this is the case, take him to the vet NOW!

maybe you should call his vet and ask him y is he drooling. he might be teething to. try giving him some soft dog food like in the cans or something but make sure there is nt to much of that sauce cause if you give them to much it can give them teeth problems...

It could be anything. It's probably just that he is hot in the summer. However, excessive drooling can be a symptom of digestive problems.

That happened to my cat once in Southern California. The vet tech said there was a lizard in the area that caused exessive drooling if animals licked it or bit it. Maybe this happened to your puggle? If it doesn't stop soon, please take hom to the vet.
