Little dogs are very cute, but i prefer larger dogs, and if i got a little one, my dad would tease it to no end, and me too

German shepherds are my favorites.
They're loyal and intelligent. They are naturally protective of their homes and family and in general they have a great temperment. Plus they look great and can be trained to do almost anything.
Names like Saber, King, Stella, Sheba and Max suit them well.

For a medium to large dog a Labrador Retriever. Chocolate or Yellow.
For a small dog a Chihuahua.
These are good dogs that like to please. They are good for beginners. Be care full not to get a puppy that is 10 lbs that grows to 100 lbs unless you can handle a 100 lbs dog. Keep in mind the adult size and temperament. Some large breeds are easy to train and some need a dominate master. Don't want a 100 lb dog you can not control.

this is my baby Kennedy

(the next two are of him too).
He is my favorite breed- mutt saved from the pound.
He is a beagle possibly dachshund mix.
He may have been euthanized by this point if I hadn't adopted him. The local shelter was full when I got him and just got 5-6 more dogs (they have 20 pens).
Please consider checking your local shelter or petfinder.com - Kennedy is adorable, well-behaved, fully-grown, and housebroken. He is great with kids, cats, and other dogs. Dog like him shouldn't die while people buy puppies from petstores, backyard breeders, or even reputable breeders.

My dog is a Bichon Frise and she is excellent with people of all ages(babies to 80year olds). Don't have a picture on this computer of her but I will put a link. Excellent breed because they don't shed hair(good for people with allergies)

My favorite breed is the American Eskimo! They are loving, loyal and very family orintated. They can be very strong willed and need a strong Alpha figure, so they are not for everyone. They are also very smart and are easily trained.
Here is a pic of one of my babies:
