I woke up this morning to find one of my dogs had died. There were no indications that she had been sick or different in anyway when she went to sleep last night. She looked very peaceful, so I wouldn't suggest that she suffered. She is not old (only 10), and there was no warning.

I'm wondering if any one can offer suggestions, or if you have any knowledge of symptoms with this dog food scare...we have four other dogs...and I need to be armed with info. Thanks, in advance, for any help anyone could offer....

Neighbor's dog came through the fence into our yard. It was attacked by our dog and died the next day. The neighbor is wanting us to pay the vet bills (about $1100). What is our LEGAL position on this. Thank you.

Where can I go to buy a dog? Has anyone tried over the internet? I want a Yorkie, I've seen some of the prices and they are expensive. I'll read the classified section of the newspaper, and people advertise their dogs for sale. Anyone ever bought an animal like that. I live in the Dallas area.

I'm getting a brand new pug puppy on Thursday. He is 10 weeks old and has been raised this far underfoot with children. The lady that i'm getting him from said that he sleeps in a plastic bin with a hole cut in the side, but he doesn't have any experience in a kennel. I want to get him adjusted to a kennel right away because he'll have to stay there when nobody is home to watch him. Should I bring the kennel with me to pick him up, and put him there immediately so that it's the first place that he gets comfortable with his new owners? or is that a mean thing to do to a puppy?

I cant seem to find a site that compares the two side by side. Is it just personal prefrence? My vet only carries Revolution, I would prefer the better of the two.

My puppy is now almost 6 mos old and has lost most of his baby teeth. Up until now, the little ones have fallen out first, then the big ones grew in, in their place. The problem is that his new canines are growing in without the little ones falling out first. Is this suppossed to happen? Do I need to get them removed?

My Boxer is 16 weeks old and is the best dog ever. Sometimes I have to go run some quick errands and she will be out back playing, as she enjoys doing every morning after being in her crate inside all night. People keep telling me just to leave her out back while Ieave for awhile, but I start thinking the worst, like if she gets out somehow, if someone steals her, if she gets bit by something and so on. So, I end up either taking her with me or crating her. I feel as though I am as paranoid with her as I am with my kids.

i want to get a dog, but i need one that fits my lifestyle. any ideas? i usually work about 10-12 hours a day and live in a one bedroom apartment. i just need a dog that is low maintenance, not too energetic or hyper and doesn't mind just lounging around. which dog will work best for me?

she knows how to sit, she doesn't do it alot though, And i thought we had potty trained her, she was doing fine for awhile. then she started coming inside again. I'm also thinking of getting another so she can have some small company. should i train the new one at an earlier age?

I started to by getting rid of all my commercially prepared "premium" dog food and have switched to a home cooked diet. Got the recipes from a woman who had done so months ago and had three sick dogs who are now thriving and WELL.
It's far better than any of the commercial fancy wrapped garbage that is killing and making animals sick. There will be more recalls to come, but already so much has been recalled and animals keep getting sick. One of my dogs kept getting blood in her urine and I will see how she improves with a home diet approved by a Vet. I am GETTING RID OF ALL COMMERCIAL STUFF UNTIL THE FDA AND INVESTIGATORS CAN DECLARE ALL COMMERCIAL DOG FOOD SAFE AND DISCLOSE WHAT IS IN THAT GARBAGE THAT DOES NOT MATCH THE PRETTY PICTURE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE FOOD PACKAGE.

I have seen similar questions but the answers didn't seem helpful considering I've done many of the suggestions. My dog bolts out the door any chance he gets and keeps running until someone in the distance happens to catch him. He doesn't even look back. We have done considerable amounts of training, tried the "special" treats when the dog comes when called, tried not chasing him but he doesn't care - he'll just keep running as fast as he can away from us, and tried running the opposite direction - he doesn't care and will keep running. He runs down the middle of the street and will not stop, slow, or look back if he gets out. It's happened 3 times, the most recent being tonight. We need immediate intervention but don't know what else to do.

Have been looking into the wireless/underground electric fences and the remote trainers but aren't sure if they work, which brands/products are good, or which system is best. Please help if you have any suggestions. THANKS IN ADVANCED!

i have just recently, approx. 1 week ago adopted a little silky terrier, which hasn't been spayed yet. she was living in a cage for 2 years and has no idea how to live in a home enviorment. she was very hyper and restless. she has calmed down, however ever since i've got her i noticed that she vomits alot thus making me think that she might be pregnant. i have no idea when she could have been mated but i think the father must be a little maltese with her in a cage.
now how what do i do?
how to i know for sure she is pregnant?
when should i take her to the vet and get her checked?
She has gained a little weight, but only on her tummy?? (suspicious i know!)
she is very clingy and calmed down but i don't know if it's because she is happy in our home and relaxed or if she is pregnant.
EVEN IF she is, what do i do? how do i prepare for the puppies! what are the essentials? i have read up on it a little bit however it's always better to ask and get an answer...so any answers? suggestions?

I have a 4-year-old Rott who is continually have a problem with his ears.

He has been taken to the vet regarding it. I am always having to flush his ears and put ointment in.

This is a persisting issue that I have with him and I am wondering if this breed is known for this.

I love my Chubbie (Short for Chabasco) and so hate to see him in discomfort and always shaking his head.
Can you help me please?
