Pit bulls are AmAzInG!!
It is not the breed that is giving them the horrible reputation......it is the owners who raise them to be mean.

I have 2 children and a neighborhood of other children. Personally when we looked for a dog, I liked a pit bull but was afraid of the responsibility of owning a dog that some might think dangerous. Even if not, people have that notion..

People think and say pit a bulls are mean and dangerous. But really its people ( irresponsible owner) who raise them and failed them at the same time. These dogs have to suffer because of peoples ignorance and selfishness. I can not criticize them enough. There should be a black list out there to ban them owning any animals for life.

I did a reasearch paper on pit bulls many years ago, and my son is researching them now. I know from all my research and his that they can be a dangerous breed of dog. Many owners of pitbulls are shocked and confused when their dogs attack people for no apparent reason. It is in their nature to be that way even if they were not raised to be attackers. You should investigate all info out there so that you can be aware of what pit bulls are capable of. They can be a good, even great pet, but you shouldn't raise one w/o reading the "bad" info as well. Try wikipedia or just google pit bulls.

The breed gets a bad rap because of a few bad owners. There are no bad dogs, just bad owners.
Every pit bull I've ever met has been very friendly.

I am not a fan of pbt, but not because of what kind of dog they are. SORRY I just don't find them attractive.
PBT, Rotties, GSD, all have to have special owners, who know how to handle bully breeds. You can't scold a bully breed the same way you scold a beagle or a retriever. You Have to socialize these types of breeds early one, in a different manner. People just don't understand this!!!
They think they can tap a pbt on the nose, or Yank a rott when they start wandering on the leash. YOU CAN'T or at least you shouldn't. These are signs of aggression that the owner is teaching their beloved pet, and that is exactly what they are teaching their dogs aggression! So sorry, this is such a Hot topic for me. We didn't get our first rottweiler, until we read about them, met with a handler, and did trial runs with other rott owners in the area.
People just think, awwww I think (insert type of bully breed) are so cute, I am going to get one, and make sure I train him not to be aggressive... And on what knowledge?

they are potentially dangerous, just like a shepard, but my shepard is a baby. Pit bulls are notorious for attacking people when in fact Shepards are worse, it depends on the owners of course and how they were raised and bred.

I don't mind them. What I do mind is irresponsible owners who raise them to be killers. They give the rest of them a bad name. I saw a man training three pit bulls to hang on to tree limbs by their teeth. That was horrifying. My friend had to give up her perfectly sweet pit bull because her neighbor was scared.

American Pit Bull Terriers are my favorite breed of dogs in the world. I own one purebred APBT and one mix. I also own an AST and a Dogo Argentino. They are all very sweet and beautiful. I hate when people dislike them because of their breed.
