what you look for in a boarding facility for your pet? What kind of accomodations? Special features or extra services?

My mum's dog is called Mops (obviously because she has hair like a mop) She is 14 and still loves to go to the park and try to run about. She is not eating, and drinking very little. She is my mum's soul companion and mum cannot bear for her to be put down. Mops is not suffering as she still seems to enjoy barking at the window and door when someone goes past and usual doggy things. Mum thinks that it is right to put her down but obviously does not want to. PLEASE no stupid answers just to get your points up. This is a serious question!!!!!

I've finally decided on getting a lab for hunting and companionship... is it too much to handle to get two brothers? or should I train one, wait a year or two and get another...i want my lab to not be so alone when im away at work...plus i think it would be cool to have a black one and a white one to compliment him.

My dog is ill and I would like a second opinion. I know nothing is better than going to a vet, but I just have spent over $300. Anyone know?

There was a recent dog food recall last week. My dog had been exposed to the tainted food, He only ate 2 cans luckily. Took him to the vet a few days after, he got an xray, and blood test. The vet said everything look normal and to just change his food. He also perscribed pain killers just incase. Even though everything is said to be normal, since then, my 8yr old silky terrier has had the following symtoms:

His whole body, but mainly rear legs have been shaking. He looks disoriented and chooses to avoid everyone and hide when we try to approach him. Whines when we try to touch him. His appetite is normal, energy good. Can avoid being active sometimes and prefer to sleep for hours. At times it looks like he crosses his back legs to maintain balance and cannot walk straight. He opens his mouth like he's gasping because he’s hot, but is not thirsty. He seems to have the most trouble after using the bathroom. He's urinating and his stools are normal. It seems like an on and off thing.

I have a 4 month old Chi, he’s really cute and is well socialized. He seems to defy the books I read on chi temperament, he loves other people, doesn’t get stress at big noise-rather he wants to investigate! He is my baby and is very spoilt but I found out recently, while we were on a camping trip that he seems to want to play with another dog. My boyfriend has a dog, she’s a poodle, he (Baxter the chi) tries to play with her when we at his house (he goes where ever I go) but she is old and can’t keep up with him. I have also recently found a job where I will not be at home all day like he is used to so I am worried he will get lonely at home with just his toys.

I can afford to have another dog - vet bills, best food, toys, grooming everything.

So here’s the thing, I want an objective opinion… should I get him a buddy that he can play with (I’m looking to adopt one)???
Would it keep him happy??? And if so I have decided on either another chi or a Yorkshire terrier or a Doberman pinscher – purely because they are around his size and would probably not hurt him like a bigger dog would. Am I on the right track?

My 5 year old Mother Boston Terrier died yesterday of possibly a Gastrointestinal problem, maybe from the bad dog food, but I'm not sure. She gave birth to (5) very healthy puppies 4 days ago. They were able to nurse from her for 3.5 days. I am feeding them "ESBILAC" recommended from Pets Mart every 2 hours. If anyone in the Dothan, Alabama area has a lactating female of any breed, please contact me on here suzanne_celec@yahoo.com or suzannecelec @hotmail.com I would like to try and see if she would surrogate some of her milk to them. Thank You All for your help and suggestions for me at this very sad time for me! Suzanne

My husband and I have been planning to get a dog for almost a year. We both really, really want a Dobermann. Finally, we made the decision, contacted some breeders. Then, when we made the date to go out and visit the puppies, my husband broke out in hives and couldn't breathe. We left heartbroken and wondered if anyone has experienced something similar and found a way to deal with it (apart from not getting a dog or not getting Dobermann). We are looking at homeopathic treatments, antihistamines, etc. but want to hear from others who have had a similar experience and as to what they have done?

My friend just bred her 11month old weimaraner to her boyfriends 9 month old weimaraner. I personaly think that both dogs are too young, But when I asked her about it she said I didnt have any idea what I was talking about. Are they too young? Will this have any effect on the female or the puppies?

I have 2 schnoodles (part poodle part schnauzer) that are 6 months old. They actually eat each other's poop before it even hits the ground! It's disgusting, but is it just my dogs that do this? Because BOTH of them do it. Is it just my dogs? Has anybody ever heard of this happening?
Thanks!

Our vet X-rayed his stomach, he then had an ultlasound his liver & spleen are slightly enlarged. His blood work a little off, all could be explained by not eating. He just did a small pooh, kindda greenish and slimy loooking. He was vomiting in the beginning but isn't now because of anti-nausea medicine. $700.00 later, he's still starving to death. Losing faith in my vet. Any ideas? Won't even eat prime rib :(

My babygurl, Sophie, a long haired minature chihuahua is a little over a year old. We havent been out to get her spayed yet and we noticed her and our other chihuahua Buddy going at it. She is only 3 pounds. She is not in heat anymore and her nipples are huge. Could she be pregnant? Are there any signs to look for? And since shes so small can she have puppies, I have heard from other people thats shes to little and might die if she got pregnant and carried the puppies very long. Please help.
