Some dogs -- especially sporting breeds, working breeds, and terriers -- are high-energy, need lots of exercise, etc. Sounds like your lazy dog is just not the type who needs or wants a lot of activity and exercise. Although a thorough health-check may be in order.

My dogs are the exact same one is a fat lazy Shnoodle and one is a Miniature Jackrussel with some American Bulldog in him. The little Jackrussel is Roo and the fat shnoodle is Toto. I have been walking Toto more with Roo which is helping alot. Also cut back to where Toto can no longer fall asleep with her head in her food bowl. The more active you are with your puppy or dog the more active it will learn to be.

I would recomend excercising your dog vigorously and often.
active dogs (with their owners, dogs love to spend time with their owners) become more active..lazy lay around dogs become more lazy.
I would first look into why your dog is being lazy though, have him/her checked for arthritis, dysplasia...anything that would make doggy not want to move much.

Put ALL ur dogs toys away exept 4 his/her FAVE toy (so they dont grab those instead), then, tease ur dog with its fave toy 4 a few min., 4 example tug-a-war or take the toy away when they try 2 get it, then throw it and of course say "Fetch", and do it all over again, play with ur dog a lot more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

some dogs are just 'built' that way. Have you tried 'the dog whisperers' web site. Might have some ideas there.
