If you love Sophie you will take her to a vet immediately. Our 5 pound chi had to have a C section . A 3 pounder should have vet care at the very least. I know that you already know how careless it was for you to risk her life in such a way, I can tell by the way you worded your question. It is possible that she is experiencing a false pegnancy. The only way to know is if she has an x-ray at the vets. If they have the equipment they could also do a sonogram. Good luck. -k-

They are likely to need a Cesarean because chihuahuas are born with big heads. She should be fine as long as you have a vet monitor the pregnancy closely and around the time of birth. She can't carry the puppys too long if the vet performs a casarean if needed around the time of her due date. Take her to the vet now and follow all the guidlines its important the vet is kept posted for the safety of the puppies and the mommy. I think she'll be fine let her have the litter which should only consist of 1-3 puppies then get her spayed shortly afterwards. Good Luck!!

First there is no such thing as a "miniature" Chihuahua...these are just names for undersized Chi's that aren't breed standard.
Your dog is 1) to young to safely carry a litter 2) too small to safely carry a litter you need to prepare yourself for an emergency c-section and other complications. Make sure you are in touch with a good vet and have one that is on call when it is time for your dog to deliver. (dogs are pregnant from 57 - 67 days with the average 63 days)
It was irresponsible to not keep an intact male and female seperated completely during her heat cycle...

surely, i'm a sprint worried approximately Mandy. by way of fact of their small length, very almost a million in 2 Chihuahuas require C-sections to grant beginning. in any different case, the doggies are too vast for them to grant, and that they are able to wind up with caught doggies or pyometra. C-sections are risky, to no longer point out costly. upload to this the actuality that Mandy isn't even a three hundred and sixty 5 days previous - she nonetheless has a domestic dog physique and is no longer sturdy or large sufficient to grant doggies, something that an person Chihuahua already has worry doing. Even donning the muddle could be a large wellbeing risk for such small canines. She's additionally no longer psychologically arranged for a muddle yet; she nonetheless thinks and acts like a domestic dog, and could possibly no longer recognize a thank you to bathe, nurse or develop her doggies right. i'd be truly hesitant approximately going forward with this muddle. Mandy heavily isn't bodily or mentally waiting to grant beginning for yet another 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, if not greater. i recognize it sounds merciless, yet for Mandy's superb activity, evaluate spaying her now, which will abort the doggies. surely, even even though it sounds poor, that is greater advantageous for Mandy's long-term wellbeing, and a minimum of you heavily isn't including to the extensive dogs overpopulation disaster (did you recognize that 70,000 doggies are born on a regular basis contained in america of a on my own?) while you're actually beneficial you do no longer desire to abort the muddle, a minimum of communicate on your vet approximately getting her a C-section particularly of forcing her to grant the doggies on her very own. you additionally can desire to examine up hand-elevating doggies, in case she rejects the doggies or isn't able to look after all of them. sturdy success.

Wow, huge trouble.. Not only is she likely pregnant, but she is just a baby still. Take her to the vet to have her spayed, the rest will take care of itself.
You should have been more careful, if you couldn't get her spayed, you should have at very least, kept her from the male... Irresponsible...

I dont think that the Chihuahua would be pregnant. I would look for some sign of drowsyness or being lazy and not paying attention to you. Go to a vet to get extra help though cause they can do tests to give youa completely right answer.

sounds like she might be. It's hard for such small dogs to have puppies, sometimes they might only have one or two. It's best to check with your vet.
