I have a 1 year old daughter and a two year old son. I love the way Pit Bulls look, but I'm very scared to get one because of my kids. I have a boxer and a American Bulldog/Bull Massiff. They bark at other dogs, but not at people. I do not live in a safe town, and I need a dog that is going to be protective but not have to worry about the dog bitting my kids or our friends.

I am looking after a GSD and he very occasionally has painful hips. He is a very active dog and loves to explore and run a little when on walks. He is just about to turn 5 I believe. Can anyone recommend any suppliments, or exercise programs to minimise his pain.

I know I've already asked a question on Sibes earlier! I just want to make sure I'm making the best possible choice.

While at a dog rescue centre I spoke with a dog trainer who told me that keeping two male brother huskies will result in them fighting for dominance, so I'm going to get a male and female (both will probably be neutered, if not that at least one) but I will probably only get one husky and a different breed other dog.

I asked earlier and was advised not to get two puppies at the same time, so I will get them a year+ apart (the other breed will probably be a weimaraner, a newfoundland or maybe even another husky), but as Huskies are pack animals and they can get very dominant, if I was to get a weimaraner for example, should I get the husky first, or the weimaraner? Does the husky's gender matter?

I don't want the Husky to be too dominant and not accept the weimaraner into its pack, and that is why I'm thinking to get the weimaraner first, but what do you think?

I let my dog outside to go poddy (fenced in backyard). I thought I'd leave him out for a while to enjoy the nice day, since it's usually cold and rainy. Well, I put out a milk bone treat on the patio, then went back inside. He came up on the patio and ate it.

While he was eating, his mouth was foaming. A lot.

So I thought he might just be thirsty (since he drinks a lot). Well, I put out a bowl of water. He won't drink.

So, now I'm worried. I don't know why his mouth is so foamy. Could he have eated something outside? I don't have any soap out there that I know of... maybe he tried to drink the pool water?

I hope it's not rabies. It shouldn't be... I think he's already had his rabies shot.

Should I take him to the vet as in to the vet emergency hopital today... or can I take him on Monday when I can get an appointment for his normal vet? Or should I not be worried. Is this normal?

Currently, my baby is laying down on the patio. I don't see any foam now.

Opinions?

It seems to be the only way he seems excited about his food and finishes it in one sitting. I don't mind doing this at all, I know he may get spoiled - but I want him to eat, and he turns up his nose to just plain dry kibble (the same one the breeder used).

I got him yesterday he didn't eat but he did poo

This morning he woke up playful and hungry ate, and peed, and pood, and then moments later vomitted

I gave him his meds (I think shortly before and he vomitted that also)

I just fed him again but smaller portion he played again and now he seems fine becuase hes sleeping.

should i go get pedialyte becuase I don't want him to dehydrate, I don't have money for a vet so thats kind of not an option. Or do you guys know of anything???!!!!!!!!!
