As people are saying, she probably has a degree of phantom pregnancy. It's really common in unspayed dogs. Her nipples should shrink afterwards but may not go down to as small as they were before. It's nothing to worry about though.

Does she have any other signs? Common symptoms are: acting a bit miserable, guarding her bed/toys, being clingy, digging in her bed... it's different for every dog. Her hormones are telling her she's pregnant. It should go away by itself but if it continues for a long time or she seems miserable your vet can give her a hormone injection that'll cure it.

Dogs that have phantom pregnancies usually have them every season, so it's probably a good idea to have her spayed unless you plan to breed from her. She has a high risk of tumours in her nipples and mammary glands because of the changes that you can see. Unspayed older dogs also run the risk of womb infections that can be serious - the first sign of this would be her drinking more than normal after a season.

Good luck!

Yes she is probably going to start a phantom pregnancy [ her head telling her she is having pups when her body isnt] you might think about possibly getting her spayed as this does help this condition . And no her nipples will return to normal . As time goes on you may find her digging up her bed and really going through the motions of having puppies dont worry .

Yes it sounds as if she is having a phantom pregnency, which is pretty common in unspayed bitches,my own dog suffered with them after every season, she's now just been spayed. The reason phantom pregnencys occur is because the bi tch thinks she is pregnent due to hormone levels,it normally go's away after a week or 2.The best bet is to get her spayed as she will continue to suffer with them and there is evidence to show that a bi tch who suffers with phantom pregnencys has a higher chance of developing mammarory cancer and the often fatal pyometra infection in her womb.

Could be a phantom pregnancy.

In 2 months her womb will be normal again so get her spayed then.

Yes They sometimes act as they are pregnant By girl even produced milk. If you are not going to breed from her then its best to have her spayed This will stop the problem and will prevent her from having health problems latter
